A little open discussion. I know it’s not gonna happen. But hypothetically speaking if it did occur, what would your personal feelings be about it?

Would you be happy or would you disagree?
What would be your reasons either way?

    What say y’all?

I’d be in favour of it.

Also, if they could bring back same day weigh ins at the same time I’d be very happy.

    And also Marvin Hagler.

No because think to yourself how many fights are actually great to watch? Not that many. So it would be a thing where if it's good it's good but if it's bad it would be really bad.

I think with PPVs they should have the main event 12 rounds and maybe the co-main event 10. That's it. Maybe 1 more 4 round fight with someone like butterbean to warm up the crowd. I hate waiting for a fight and realizing there's 2 fights left on the undercard... both 12 rounds ... one with women (obviously going the distance) and another with some pillow fisted bums... 36 minutes + breaks + intro+ post fight.. That's like 1 hr. a fight... way too long to sit through... way too long

good thing about 15 round fights is it gives less talented guys with good endurance and heart a bigger shot at victory.

    This.

Staying awake through shitty undercard fights for a big fight in the US when you live in the UK is fucking brutal enough. Don't make it even longer :Jest:

In favor, for championship fights or main events only. While some bouts would be the same if it were 6, 12, 15 or 20 rounds of nothingness, there have been enough where you wonder what might have been given an entire three more to go. Another completely unsporting reason is to shut people up about "back when men were men they fought 15 ..."

Reasons the other way? Previous posts have already covered some of my sentiments.

I would agree to 15 rounds only if there's a draw after 12 rounds

I'm up for fifteen rounds if final eliminators/ABC titles were for twelve, and all non-final eliminators were for ten.

I just want that Gaspar Ortega/Boza Edwards ten round blockbuster feel back.

    Interesting points here.

I agree about the big fights/title fights. I think an argument could be made there for 15 rounds.

I think there are a few fights that could have benefitted from being 15 rounders.

None of these guys could survive a 15 rounder, brother, believe me.

They'd all drop dead 17 seconds into round 13.

It wouldn't benefit boxings viability in the long run. Violence is being legislated out of the sport same as nFL

It would take time to transition, but they could do it.

I would like it, but I’m fine either way.

I’d rather see weigh-in procedures change first.

Likewise. While i think if the sport transitioned to 15 round a lot of fighters would adapt very well, if you also include same day weigh-ins many would be fucked.

You made think of something. Like what 12rd fights would have turned out differently if there were 15 rd fights? Like a fight where one guy was making a comeback and gaining momentum but at the end ran put of time.

I think it should be discretionary . Something fighters can negotiate for. Eg you pick the refs, I pick the judges, you take 70 % money but I want 15 rounds scheduled, etc etc.

Yep. 12 round is long enough. Never understood the appeal of 15 rounders

I was going to write the same way I feel about the overturning of Row V Wade, indifferent. But the more I thought about it I realized I would hate it. Fights feel too damn long as it is. Last thing I wants is a couple extra rds. Somebody check my math on that; it is two extra right?

Make Alvarez drain down to welterweight then fight Ennis and see if he still doesn't get KOed.

If Roy had Canelo’s level of opponents, I think he’d have retired undefeated.

Canelo isn't broke like Roy. Canelo fights for legacy and for his country. Roy fights to feed his 20 kids and chickens. I don't see Canelo getting koed ever.

Canelo is a very good fighter but the thought of him against Roy at 168 and above is laughable. It's good he has a solid beard because he would need it.

Tbf, there's some things which we already knew about Canelo and the Bivol fight did nothing to change these perceptions.

The guy's chin is brilliant, and he's a strong muthafucker. His body work, counters and combos are all good, and when he uses them, so are his positioning, feints and even his jab. I think he got away from the technical stuff that made him so much better than his opposition after he broke Saunders' face. It's probably arrogance, and it was evident he got away from it in the Plant fight.

He has no chance against Roy.
