May 11th on Fox. I'm looking forward to this one. I think J-Rock has somewhat of a chance of pulling an upset, and I'm ok if I'm alone with that opinion. May is looking very good so far. Canelo-Jacobs May 4, Hurd-Williams May 11, and then Taylor-Baranchy and Inoue-Rodriguez on May 18.
Perhaps. Maybe I have too much faith in J-Rock. Or maybe I just see that Hurd is a very flawed fighter, and might struggle with Williams' skills.
Though Hurd gets hit a little too much for my liking, I think he should win this one in the mid to late rounds when he finally catches up to J-Rock.
J-Rock's the Better Technician, Obviously, But He's Going to Have to Fight More Like Tony Harrison Than the "Philly Fighter" he Fancies Himself to Be, to Beat Hurd... J-Rock Will Tag Hurd w/Ease Early, But Hurd's Unceasing, Stalking, Serial Killer Pressure Will Wear J-Rock Down by the Middle Rounds and J-Rock's Shaky Durability will Lead to a Stoppage by the 9th-10th. REED
Williams hasnt looked impressive in the fights after charlo KOd him Particularly vs ishe smith That said, hurd is beatable and wont be around much longer at 154lbs. Getting down to that weight cant be a picnic for him, if Williams boxes wisely he has a chance
This fight is on Saturday, in case anybody forgot. Looking forward to it! The safe pick is Hurd wearing Williams down for a late stoppage, but if Hurd is weight drained, J-Rock has a chance of outboxing him. I'd like to add that both guys come across to me as genuinely good, family oriented men. You can tell when an asshole is putting on a nice guy front, but both Williams and Hurd come across to me as legitimately good dudes.
He Will for Awhile...Defensively, Hurd's the Black Antonio Margarito, So he WILL Get Touched Up Quite a Bit... By the 9th-10th Hurd's Relentless Pressure Will Take its Toll Though... REED
Hurd is -600 The only chance to make any money, presuming Hurd wins, is hope Reeds description is borne out, that Williams puts him in trouble a few times and the odds even up a bit. Williams himself is +400
We will see how Williams firepower stacks up against the top guys hurd has faced Harrison is a front runner and lara is a guy who doesnt look to punches together that much Hurd should be closer to -300 or -250
Fuck it! I'm picking J-Rock by UD. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I just have a hunch that J-Rock has the ability to expose Hurd.
Prime Lara was a lot better than Williams, but the Lara fought that Hurd faced couldn't pull the trigger like he once could. If Hurd had faced say, the Lara that beat up Paul Williams, then Hurd woulda gotten his ass kicked.
REED's Prediction is Unchanged... Hurd TKO 9th-10th, Slightly Behind on the Cards @ the Time of Stoppage... REED
I got Hurd late but I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s outboxed. Williams durability is a bit shaky and I have a feeling he’ll crack late under the pressure. But I hope I’m wrong.
REED GETS What You're Saying, but Hurd Just Seems to Be a VERY Chill, Laid Back Dude Outside of the Ring...He's Engaging, Friendly and Quick to Smile in Just About Every Interview REED's Seen... Which Belies How HARD and AGGRESSIVELY He Performs on Fight Night... REED
Hurd UD, but he loses some rounds. I think J Rock is a quality fighter and -800 or -850 is bullshit. I'd take Williams with those odds. Hurd is so fucking huge for a jr mid. His head and neck are massive. He looks like a guy who weighs 220 lbs in interviews. The other talk guys around this weight class can be ripped, but they seem drained and lean. Hurd doesn't.
I was just about going to say that despite landing, J Rock isn't hurting Hurd and he needs to be careful about saving gas.
