I Am Bruce Lee is an excellent documentary that aired on Spike TV on March 07. What makes this one different from other documentaries is that they tell the story and legacy of the legendary martial arts phenomenom through his own words, comments by different personalities (like a bunch of mix martial arts competitors, UFC president, basketball star Kobe Bryan, actors like Mickey Rourke, boxer Ray "Boon Boom" Mancini, Dan Inosanto, Shannon Lee, Linda Lee etc). Contrary to "Curse of The Dragon" which had this same style, but was sleep inducing, this new one is really interesting and everything each one of the commentators brings sheds new details about the man we thought we knew very well by now. It also allowed Lee's closest friends and widow to get emotional (it was touching watching Dan Inosanto bursting in tears admitting he remembers his friend and mentor every single day of his life). Or when Linda Lee described when Bruce went into a coma a couple of months prior to his death and how later he told her he could hear her calling him like he was in at the bottom of a well. What I found odd was...what the heck was Ed O'Neil (Al Bundy from Married with Children & Modern Family) doing here? In all a very entertaining documentary where most, but not all,of the new generations of fighters call Bruce Lee as the father of mix martial arts.
