no doubt it is obtainable.. you want to add 50lbs on your bench by summer? I think you can for sure if you work hard.
That's really good, Kaliber. How tall are you and what weight are you at right now? 300 isn't THAT far above 250. You could probably get 260 or a bit more if you can do 250 for 2.
Ah, ok. You'll definitely get it eventually, but make sure you don't go heavy all the time or you'll burn out.
Well i usually do a sets of 8 reps at 205lbs Plus usually 3 different sets of different chest excercises I do have to say i don't do decline much, i mostly do regular ones and some incline but close to none decline? Should i do more decline?
I wouldn't do a lot of decline, but it's a good idea to do a little just to strengthen those muscles. It's an exercise where you can do a lot of weight easily, so I wouldn't overdo it.
Do heavy close girp bench presses to build your tricep strength....Nothing gonna be worse than having to have your spotter lift 300 the last 2 inches because your tris arent strong enough to finish the rep
:: True but i do workout my arms reguarly. As a matter of fact my arms are my most developed feature..
:: I will speaking of people giving spots..last time i was the gym not too many people were there and i was doing cardio when this pretty big arabic guy was benching and he was gonna do 260 i think so he needs a spot so he gets this little mentally challanged fellow who was hanging around lifting 5 pound weights...i dont' wanna make fun of mentally challanged or anything but how stupid of that guy to put your life in the hands of a mentally challanged fellow!
if you get 250 twice now.. everytime.. you might get 300 right now on a good day. just keep at it, I'd add a 2 1/2 on each side of what you do for reps..
How many times a week do you train bench-press? I'd like to know since I have been working out for quite a while but I get results very slowly and t me getting 50 lbs more before summer sounds just unbelievable
i do chest once a week..sometimes two but that's very rare The day i do chest i do at least 4-5 different chest excercies..it takes me roughly hour hour and half...to me key is really pushing it so my chest kills after...and i think it's good to keep trying to do more weight each week..even if you can't do the full 8 reps for example do 4 or something with more weight just to get the body used to heavier weight
So do you do five exercises, all 3x8 reps or something like that? If so, I think that pretty much v´covers it if that is what brings you results. I don't train my chest nearly as much at one time, I have thought that is overtraining
well even 4x8 ya and i think overtraining would be if i did chest again the next day or day after that but since i rest it for the rest of the week then i don't think it's overtraining at all..
I rarely use heavy weight in this, but I hopped on the bench yesterday and was repping with 225. The problem with bench press is that you can use so much more weight than any other exercise except squats and deadlifts. Thus there is the possibility of more injury. I actually felt a twinge in my shoulder, but it goes away as soon as I start doing pushups. I'm not gonna tackle heavy benches until I can do 25 consecutive pushups with good speed. That way I'll know my shoulder is stable enough to handle the really heavy stuff!
I'm doing the same thing with pushups that I do with chinups, which means 7 consecutive pushups at 6-7 times a day. I could do more, but I want to develop it gradually so that it is an everyday thing.
cool Buddy.. I do them as well.. I do a min of 100 pushups everyday.. which is really just 5 sets of 20 or I'll do 4 of 25 I want to get 100 straight, last I tryed I got 82
do you do any weight lifting? If so wouldn't doing 100 pushups everyday interfere with your chest work outs? Since it needs to rest and all?
Pushups everyday for a short training regimine is alright, but the idea behind working out the same muscle everyday does you no good.
You take thousands of steps everyday. Doesn't that interfere with your leg workout? Of course not, your body has gotten used to it over a period of time. Same goes for every other exercise, but you have to get the muscles accustomed to it.
