In just about every boxing forum except this one, nearly everyone was picking Pacquiao. But here? Around 30% were going with Barrera. I figure that it's one of these reasons:
    • People who picked Barrera were stupid and don't understand boxing.
    • People who picked Barrera were blind nuthuggers
    • People who picked Barrera picked him just so that in the off chance that a miracle happens, they can brag about picking Barrera.
    • All of the above.
Seriously, I'd like to hear from some of you. What went through your mind when you picked Barrera by decision, by knockout... whatever. What is wrong with you? Do you make stupid picks like this often, or was this a one-time thing?

I picked Paccquiao to win, however it had been said that Manny had the llu going into this fight and he looked sickly and/or drained at the weigh in.

Rubio is being a bit of a dork, but he is right on the money. If there ever was a fight that you could bank on, it was this. Barrera looked so bad against Juarez. And Pac looks better just about everytime out. out with the old, in with the new. It reminded me of Tyson fans picking him to beat McBride, or Danny Williams, or....

It's the difference of pickin a fight using your head and not following your heart.
Making the same mistake over and over can be a bitch, but then again last week I picked Estrada over Berto, who I think is ripe to be exposed soon. :dunno: Oh well

    hey Hey HEY!
    :nono:

I'll tell you exactly what I was thinking, it took Williams 10 rounds of punishment to hurt Matthysse, I figured Matthysse a lesser version of Margarito, I saw similarities that weren't there, I figured at some point Cintron would have to get hit, unfortunately for me Kermit didn't let that occur via lead cannon right hands and followups. I over analyzed the fight.

But if you feel you are the better gambler, I'm sure we can find some fight to bet on so I can include some of your green in my wallet, give it some time, we'll figure something out.

The only time you have made your prediction official here was for the DLh vs. Mayweath...and Pac vs. Barrera...

I guess you predicted correctly in all other fights......which website/boxing forum do you usually make your predictions..? not here...so we can look over your fight picking mastery..

Ohhh and i pick Barrera cause i though he could DO what he DID last night...but just a bit more active...and follow up everytime he landed on Pacquiao..

But he Barrear would land one or two good shots, then stand back an look at what he did..and Pacquiao would explode back with punches...:dunno:

    Need attention much?

Rubious you were so convinced Manny would slaughter Marco why not Unanimous decision? You just posted decision.

I personally felt the Marco had a LOT of issues the 1st fight that could be a Very real distraction. You just have to go through stuff like that. I also believe Marco to be a warrior of sorts as he has proved. I picked him because I knew he wouldn't go out on his d'rear (Thus my statement either way it goes to the cards) also that of the 2 Marco had had the better training without distractions. I personally can't care less that I was wrong. Even if I had hit it spot on I wouldn't be so lame as to make a thread like this to try and belittle others picks. Congrats on being retard of the day.

I knew it wasn't a logical pick but so what? It's such an unimportant thing, I don't know why you make such a big deal of a bad pick.

Riiiiiiight. Based on the human-windmill performances he had against Marquez and Juarez, perhaps?
Except that he sucks at calling fights. How many fucking times do we have to read, "They meet in the center of the ring," as if we're wondering whether or not they meet in a neutral corner or something stupid like that. Also, Max Kellerman at least knows something about boxing and its history, and his picks at least have some consistency. Kellerman always picks the bigger guy. Illuminati always picks the guy who's going to lose.
Read the thread. Before the fight, I was berating anyone who thought Barrera had a chance. I don't like posting my picks here because there are too many idiots around. The prediction threads tend to get rather stupid. PM me before any fight if you're curious as to who I'm going with. I don't pick the fights 100% of the time; I had Taylor, but I didn't have any money on it. I haven't lost money on a fight since Acelino Freitas proved to be more of a bitch than I expected.

Seriously, I don't get it either, it was a sure win in my book for Pac and would have been very surprised to see MAB win. Most who picked MAB fit in the category you selected ( some are Pac hater also ), but it happens, once in a while that even knowledgeable boxing fan makes a laughable predictions.

But why are there so many of them here? Pacquiao was a solid 4-to-1 favorite or more.
I picked Pacquiao by decision, and berated all you idiots who picked Barrera.

Well seeing as how so much was being made of Pac's (so called) distractions you can't blame some people for getting caught up in that. Yeah, you should look at more tangible things when picking a winner and simply going off of who looked better in their last fights should have dissolved the distraction rumors all together.

I want to know how much under the table money Pacman received for training in the Phillies. I'm sure some casino or betting company set that up and then began the distraction rumors. :stir:

I don't mind being wrong about my Taylor pick last week, because I just wasn't that knowledgeable about Pavliek, plus that fight was his first step up to that level of opponent so it was really hard to judge if he was the real deal or not.
