I make my ring announcing debut on Saturday.

I couple of months ago I posted a little article I wrote for my local news paper when I was covering some fights.

Well, at the fight, they did a 10-bell salute for Corrales (I suggested it would be a nice touch) but the ring announcer called his Chico "Drego" Corrales. So I told the guy who puts the shows on that I should do it next time.

This morning he called me and asked if I was still down. HELL YEAH! ::

So... I want to come up with a corny catch-phrase before the main event. Also, any other suggestions would be welcome.

 

"Everybody put your hands together for ........ GUYS PUNCHING EACH OTHER IN THE FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Buffers lawyers hands would be tied. :clap:

 

Ladies and Gentleman, it's time for the main event. Prepare yourself for SLAPFIGHTING CANADIAAAAAAAAAANS!.......................eh!

In the Northeast we have "Generous" Joe Antonacci as a ring announcer. He gives all his ring announcing proceeds to charity. You should be "Greedy" Steve_Dave. Not only do you keep your announcing coin, but you put it into tax free shelters, fail to report it to the government and also skim from boxers purses on the side.

People love villians. You could be the Darth Vader of boxing. :bears:

I don't think anybody's done this before, professional courtesy and what not but you know all the other ring announcers just hate constantly on Buffer because he probably makes more then all of them combined.

You need an outfit, a catch, steve_dave. Maybe a pinstripe zoot suit and a fedora. Bring some dangerous class to the proceedings.

Also just before the Main Event you should try this:

Go out to the middle of the ring, lights dim, spotlight on you. Introduce the fighters, etc, etc... "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are finally ready for the main event"

Arena goes black for a few seconds

Suddenly you boom into the microphone:

"Lets Do This Thing!"

Lights flash back on and fireworks or confetti comes shooting out of the ringposts. Crowd goes nuts.

You would be remembered for eternity Steve_Dave. :bears:

Hey Congrats Steve_Dave. I have a catch phrase for you : "I can already smell the BLOOD!!!!". People will go crazy once they here that and that would fit with your Hard as Fuck personality.

On a side note, I'd like to have a different color for my username too. Green would be great.:bears:

 

I think you're already better than Bruce Buffer, and I haven't even heard you yet. You should see about taking that guys job at the UFC.
