Vitali, because he deserved to get where is. He'd be a contender in any era because of his toughness and not just his size

Wladimir with his waterford crystal chin could only be a top fighter in today's obscenely useless heavyweight landscape

None with great fervour, but I suppose little brother --- it would silence the fallacy his big bro is somehow better. He isn't.

I disagree big brother would be a contender in any age, but junior wouldn't. I think they're both good enough, coupled with their size, to challenge for a top-10 spot & subsequent title shots.

Wouldn't care to see, don't expect to see it.

Wladimir would pound the sh*t out of Vitali easily if they fought. The only thing that would keep Vitali up for a few rounds is his chin before it succumbs. They even sparred before and Vitali got hurt.
Wlad is twice the athlete as his brother.

The only heavyweight fight out there worth paying for. I would love to see it happen.

I know what you mean especially since it isn't like there is any evidence out there like Corrie Sanders bludgeoning Wlad into a fetal position while Vitali kicked Corrie's ass, or the fact that Wlad has been physically stopped 3 times and dropped several others while Vitali hasn't. But yeah, that doesn't mean nothing, Wlad is clearly better. His ability to throw crisper, prettier shots and move around the ring better is clearly the deciding factor of who's superior when compared to Vitali's better stamina, chin, and durability.

Which are the only advantages big bro has. Technical proficiency, athleticism, combinations, the jab (Boxing's most important punch), hitting power...junior, junior, & junior.

So basically your argument is that on paper Wlad is better but in the real world it's Vitali. Yet somehow you're going to go with the paper argument in proclaiming Wlad to be better.

Let's also not forget that Vitali's advantages compared to Wlad's seem to be the main reasons Vitali never got stopped and defeated like Wlad has. Let's see, Wlad lacks his brothers chin which has lead to 1 of his KO's. He lacks his brothers stamina which has led to 2 other defeats.

Oooh but look how technically pretty Wlad throws that jab.

Wlad is tough enough. If he was soft then guys like Sam Peter and Mercer would have done him. They didn't. He's no Vitali, of course.

I can see why cage fighting fans would enjoy a joke like Klitschko vs. Klitschko, but it doesn't interest me at all. It's a freak show.

    Get over it, SD.

And what boxing fan wouldn't want to see the two best heavyweight boxers fight each other? Is there another heavyweight boxer out there that anyone even cares about?

So taking the whole 'brother' aspect out of it, wouldn't you want to see them fight each other?

I disagree. A lot. The saying is a remnant of what we have grown up being told, but I think it is bullshit far more often than not.

Boxing's most important punch depends on the fighter. For most it is not their jab.

I care about a lot of them...Solis, Povetkin, Gomez, Boytsov, Thompson, Haye...and more

Not all of them have gotten a shot, yet. It's pretty interesting what the Klitschko's have done to boxing, particularly in the USA. They have take a weight class loved by Americans and dominated it to the point that Americans have admitted defeat and turned into a bunch of little bitches. We aren't going to play with you because you are too good. wah wah wah

Jeepers fuck, everybody loses. It's even stranger because both of them HAVE lost, but since they have put together this string of excellent performances, many have decided that they can't be beat. So what then? Wah wah wah...I don't like their style. Even though they have beaten the shit out of their last 12 opponents, they are boring.

The Klitschko's will lose or they will build something extremely special if they do not. Either way, I want to see it and I want to make sure everyone gets at least one shot at them while they are at the top.

Besides all Vitali does is jab and throw right handed armpunches and after ten rounds fighters far more durable than Wlad just quit or collapse. Wlad´s new conservative gameplan includes not throwing anything but his jab for three or four rounds. There is no way he could get away with that against (a prime) Vitali. The pace would be much higher. Now with Wlad´s power and skills, he could always catch Vitali with a bad bomb and put his lights out, but the longer the fight goes the worse it gets for Wlad. I doubt Wladimir could win a fight against Vitali that goes longer than 4-5 rounds.

Not so. Wlad is the division's champion, in spite of the fact the supposedly superior Vitali is active. There will never be a fight with the brothers, so forget that.

Vitali is quite over-rated. He has the fluidity of molasses, a surprisingly tepid punch, lacks the natural rhythm to be a quality combination puncher...how anyone thinks he is better than Wlad is beyond me.

Because the only two times he lost were due to injuries and he has never trailed a fight on the scorecards in his life? :dunno:

    Some opposition it's been, too.

I don't know how you can write off a loss for being cut, either. I'll give him a pass for the Byrd scenario (people don't realise how severe that injury can be --- Pep did it, Liston did it, Klitschko can do it, too, without being demonised the way he has by some), but you're detracting from the Lewis loss because of a cut?

That is no different from saying, "Well, Fighter X only lost because he was knocked out," or, "He only lost on points." It's a defeat as comprehensive as any other.

Uh, Kevin McHale wasn't exactly fluid or quick, but he was a fantastic basketball player. Kareem Abdul Jabar seemed awkward next to his peers, but he was one of the greatest ever.

In boxing, nobody would call Monzon fluid.

I don't think a fighter needs to fulfill some particular expectation about how he should look or move in order to be good.
