I'd have to think about it more to make a better analysis but my first instinct is to go with Ike winning a close decision. Quartey has enough rounds in the bank from the early rounds to overcome Cotto's later round attacks.
Cotto seems more consistant than Ike. It seemed like the best Quartey didn't always show up on fight night(the Lopez, and Vargas fights come to mind). I'd pick Cotto to pressure Ike all night, and while he'd be outboxed at points, I think he'd win by ud.
The Lopez and Vargas fights came late in his career, when he was mired by inactivity. A prime Quartey would knock Cotto out.
Gotta agree with this. The prime Quartey, working his jab like he did against Lopez would have decimated Cotto and kept him away with the jab and used he's Winky like arm defense to trim the punishment he would have received. I'd guess a 10th rd stoppage sounds about right.
I'm not sure Cotto has faced a jab such as Quartey's. The story on Cotto is not finished yet, but thus far both in their prime's, I too would lean towards Quartey.
