The biggest BW puncher in boxing today meets the biggest puncher of are times in BW history in Zarate.
Too early to call to this one. Zarate is the more logical choice at this point because his resume was deeper - he was truly a dominant champion until he ran into Gomez, and was never the same after. But he did clearly beat Pintor after, and got robbed blind in one of the worst decisions of the 70s. But at that same time, Inoue is too good to say he definitely loses. So yeah, jury's still out, but Zarate is the favorite right now. Zarate presents problems that Inoue has never faced before. The only certainty here is that given the firepower of both, one of em is gettin stopped.
Lomachenko has the best amateur record in history. He's won world titles in the pro ranks and made multiple experienced champions quit on their stool because they were so completely out-classed. To gauge his chances against previous greats is laughable. It's blasphemous. Inoye on the other hand is already ready to challenge legends like Harada and Zarate.
What difference does that make? You didn't think it was too soon to wonder about Inoue/Harada but for some reason Inoue/Zarate is wait and see stuff
I think it is because Harada fought longer time ago than Zarate, so we can put his career in better perspective
Definitely... need Zarate to be retired at least 40 years before I'll have a better handle on whether or not he was good at boxing ... right now it's all too fresh
I think Zarate would have KO'd Harada, despite the fact that Harada beat Jofre, who was better than Zarate. It was a Jofre who after 4 years of ruling bantam, was killing himself to make 118.
