That's been obvious for a while IMO.

Some of his fights are pretty boring and frustrating to watch (not tonight's though), but I think he is clearly the best, most effective, most well rounded fighter in MMA.

Better than Silva, and better than Fedor too.

I thought tonight fight was pretty boring too, but apart from that, I agree, GSP is number 1 p4p and has been for a while too.

Greasy Georges wins safety first decisions on guys that are begging to be taken out.

    Aldo > Silva > Fedor > GreaseSP

Azazel, well yeah, I guess it was kind of boring, but mainly because Josh was overmatched. Not as boring or frustrating to watch as GSP's elite lay and pray though, or Silva's absurd "performances".

I think GSP is the only fighter in MMA that throws a consistent jab.

That was a fantastic performance. Much improved standup with a good pace and mix of punches and kicks. Koscheck does suck though.

I want to know who GSP is fighting next. He won me back over.

Say what you want about GSP but there isn't a guy in any organization at 170 that belongs in the cage with him. He is that much better than every WW in MMA. You can't say that about anyone else except for MAYBE Aldo. But Aldo still has some opponents at 145.

GSP is easily the top P4P guy. I still want to SEE him beat Shields and don't think it will be an easy fight. Shields is a guy that you just can't discount. He will find a way to make it close.

He spent a couple of days with Roach in the Phillipines while Manny was training for Margarito. It's hard to imagine that 2 days would make any difference but there is no doubt that his jab was far better than ever.

Roach said he mainly worked wth George about being loser and letting punches flow rather than everything being tight. I think you could see that. GSP's jab was fast, sharp and accurate.

GSP is really an example of hard work and not having too big an ego to learn new things. I am with you, the guy has just forced me to be a fan.

I've thought so for a while now. He's incredibly athletic, and skill-wise can hang with anybody in any area of MMA. I thought it was interesting to see him in there with somebody that could compete with his wrestling, and he had a great game plan to counter that.

Looks like a fight with Shields is next, and I just can't get excited about it. GSP will use the same game plan that he had with Kos, and it will work even better. Shields makes Koscheck look like SRR. GSP will beat him brutally.

GSP completely negated Koschecks only chance he had with being the superior standup fighter. Wrestling wise there didn't seem to be much of a difference.

But GSP is excellent in all areas and not just Joe Rogan intro excellent but really one of the best in every aspect of MMA.

You wouldn't see him getting ragdolled by someone like Chael Sonnen.

I'd answer this thread with a yes!

I guess 5 rounds of stand up just isn't your thing then. GSP can't win with some fans. Too much wrestling, so he stands for 5 rounds with a dude with huge power and that's boring too.

GSP would be my pick for p4p #1.

It's simple really, he's dominating a very good division and looking more impressive than any other fighter out there.

yet you complain that PBF is boring if I'm not mistaken. A stand up battle doesn't necesseraly equate to excitement

It's amazing the lack of love for GSP. I just read a Kevin Iole article wherein he lamented that Silva is still the better P4P fighter because GSP can't finish fights. WTF?

Iole's biggest complaint is that GSP didn't go after the finish when Josh was clearly beaten and fighting with one eye. He went on to imply that Silva would have finished such a beaten opponent.

I had to laugh. First, Silva had Maia bleeding and beaten yet never risked ANYTHING to get the finish. Second, Silva was manhandled by Sonnen for 4 1/2 rounds. That would NEVER happen to GSP.

I guess people just have to disagree, but the one thing that can't be disputed is that GSP owns the WW division. No one can even win a round against him right now. Silva can't make that claim.

To me there isn't even a question about the top P4P guy. Finishes or not, GSP is on a different level than even the next best guys in the division. Guys like Koscheck, Fitch and Alves are high caliber guys that could literally beat anyone else in the world on a given day yet none can even win a single round versus GSP.

He is alone at the top of the heap in my mind.

No, but he would get knocked silly in the first round by a mediocre, blown up LW and then tap out to strikes and make Kermit Cintron's heart look like Diego Corrales'.

Put some 4oz gloves on him and it would be. I'm not comparing boxing and MMA. Not going to happen, two completely different sports.

You are right. Wlad would probably finish people with 4oz gloves. Unlike JabSP...
