He took his cock out and laid his head on wlads nose and said suck it baby..... Nah seriously, he is getting irate with Wladimir in the corner at the start of the 12th round in the Chambers fight, telling Wladimir "we dont need any more of these BS decisions".......which is odd, because {a} its merely Mannys job to get Wlad through the fight and {b} Wlad has had 2 decisions in all his time with Manny......{Peters and Ibragimov} My understanding is that Manny is the COACH, not the PR guy
:: Manny I think is very sensitive to the criticisms voiced by the fans, probably because of his spot on HBO. Mainly, he doesn't want to alienate fans in his role as a trainer. He probably said that having recognized that Wlad was going to stop him so it would look like he had something to do with it. Any question as to Manny's actions can usually be explained by the fact that he's self-serving in almost everything he does, whether it's on air, in the corner, or as a manager.
You're right. He should have said what Billy Graham used to say to Ricky Hatton. "Hold on for dear life Ricky, clinch him till he can't breath no more, fuck him in the ass if you think it will slow down the pace of the fight and keep the other guy from getting off his punches." :bears:
He did the right thing. Wlad came out and knocked Chambers out cold. You'd be surprised at how many trainers are sensitive to the criticisms of fans and pundits. But with Steward, he always advocated a more aggressive pace when one fighter totally outclasses the other as opposed to letting the better fighter coast.
Manny has recently gone on the record as being a mercenary trainer.....:bears: maybe he is more honest than we first assumed....:dunno: I maintain that a trainers duty is to keep his man safe, dispense instructions as necessary to win the fight....not how to end the fight
please. it's because of Manny that Wlad's become so damn boring - it's probably one of the reasons Manny feels compelled to demand a knock-out - it's surely ocurred to him that he's responsible for the boring as shit fighter that Wlad has become.
Possibly........Wlad used to open up a lot more under Sdunek. As somebody said, under Steward, Wlad knocks out Sanders and decisions Mercer.
Like I said earlier, he always advocated a more aggressive pace when one fighter totally outclasses the other as opposed to letting the better fighter coast. He has said it many times in the broadcast booth. Allowing a fight to continue unnecessarily can be even more dangerous...especially when a gruesome twosome of bad stamina and a china chin like Wlad has is involved.
