I'm shedding 5-6 pounds a week. I started my diet about 1 month ago and I managed to shed 15 pounds. The first week I only lost 2 pounds but after that its been a good 5-6 pounds. I'm eating 3 meals a day and I cut my food intake by 6pm. So I'm asking is this normal? I go to the gym 5 times a week and do mostly cardio. I burn anywhere from 400-500 calories a workout.
really depends on your body.. if you are already somewhat lean.. 5-6 a week is too much too fast if you are a lard ass.. it's possible
I wouldn't say I'm a lard ass but I have about 10 more pounds to go until I reach my goal. At this rate I will hit that mark in 2 weeks. I started off @ 216 and I'm currently @201. If I make my goal of 190 I will be in the best shape of my life since high school!!!!:bears:
sounds too fast to me personally, if your only 216. You must be losing allot of muscle. It's a common thing people do, eat too little, lose the weight too fast, get to their target weight having lost loads of muscle and they find their metabolism is WAY slower & that their bodies ability to partition the calories they take in is even worse than before. And of course, they just put all the weight back on, but this time with an even higher BF%. Don't wanna alarm you, not saying thats definitely whats happening with you, but it is the reason they generally recommend only losing 2lb a week tops unless your the shape of a bowling ball. Also why doing some resistence work is SO important if your losing weight, even if its just bodyweight stuff.
I'm 5'11. So I am overweight. I still have a gut I wan't to get rid of. I work from home so this is the first time I'm adding exercise in a long time. I'm also not eating junk food that I once ate on a regular basis. I'm eating 3 decent meals a day but I'm adding fruits in between meals. I love the results that I'm getting so far. I'm going to start resistance training very soon. I'm just trying to hit my target of 190 for now. And no I can't see my abs yet::
what Hut said is spot on. . 2lbs a week normally is the rate.. if you lose much more.. it's water/muscle.. just be sure to get enough protien if you are cutting your cals way down..
I agree with what Hut said but in my situation I think my body is losing excessive fat. I still have some loose fat that I want to get rid of. But like I mentioned before once I hit my target of 190 which will be very soon, I will cut down on my cardio and start resistance training to get toned. I may start adding resistance training a few times during the week.
The first 10-15lbs are generally the easiest. You might have lost some muscle or you might just retain too much water and lost it right away. Still, like LOK said, 2-3lbs a week is the guideline.
maybe you have a tape worm? you shoudl see the doc man.. when you shit do you see maggots or anything like that in your terds?
Nah, the guy is just a fat ass. If you keep losing that much weight in a couple of more weeks, I'd go to the doctor. I went from 5'11 175 to 140 in 6 weeks and I was in great shape at 175. It turned out my liver and thyroid were failing, so be careful. Even though I am a thinish guy, I can still drop 8 pounds in a day. After that, it gets very difficult.
I agree Ike.. this guy should go to the doctor.. his liver could be jacked up.. or maybe he has maggots or some other parasite in his colon FYI.. if you shit and you see worms or maggots in your poop.. go to the doctor! Drinking vodka will not kill all the maggots
artie:Well all I can say is that I feel great! It's amazing what diet and exercise can do. I never had problems losing weight but this time I really dedicated myself with the gym work that I needed.
Well, you are past your "degreasing" stage. If you keep losing weight, you might be sick. LOK is right about the parasites. You need to sort through your bm. Don't wear gloves or you won't feel the parasites. You have to squeeze the fecal matter to check.
LOK I'm fine. If I see that I still drop 5-6 pounds per week After I hit 190 then I will be concerned. Technically I'm still overweight. Also once I hit my target I will reduce my gym workouts from 5 days a week to 3 a week.
If you are overweight like Hex is/was then losing 5 pounds in 1 week is no big deal if you are eating right and woking out very hard. I went through the same shit last year. I haven't gained anything back, it's just easier to lose weight quicker if you are overweight in the first place.
Yeah, it's when you have a lot of muscle on you that it's harder to lose the pounds. I'm jogging 5k a day and eating healthy. No booze, and I'm stuck at 203. I'm gonna start picking up my speed in the jogging and perhaps train twice a day as I found that it helped. I'm also gonna buy a scale and closely monitor food portion sizes. That might help.
I'd make sure you dont have tape worms or other parasites in your colon maybe go see a doctor and have him check your colon it could be that you have some maggots in your rectum and are causing the problems do you have hemaroids or any anal fissures?
I think you should take some high res pics of your dung and post it on here for us to checkout man.. just for good measures
I lost 50 pounds in the space of two and a half weeks. Took me six months to put it back on in a healthy fashion. I cannot recommend the process to anybody else.
Sounds like when I got the Norwalk virus. I lost 20lbs in a week and felt like the walking dead.
Well guys it seems that my weight loss has stopped. I'm stuck @200 and can't seem to drop below it to make my goal of 190. I haven't changed nothing in my diet or exercise. WTF gives? I'm thinking of cutting more off my food intake to make my goal. :fightme:
