I mean 2 Olympic Golds, 2 lineal world heavyweight championships, 1 undisputed light-heavyweight title, 1 undisputed welterweight title. Quite a haul. Does anybody beat them? Is there a family you could say were better even if they didn't pick up as many titles?

    Some other good ones

    The Mayweathers
Moyer (though Denny was clearly a lot more accomplished)
Quarry (Jerry and Mike were both very solid)
Curry (Bruce was a good pro, though obviously overshadowed)
    Max and Buddy Baer
    Orlando and Gaby Canizales
    Mike and Tommy Gibbons
    Ernie and Danny Lopez
The Baltazar brothers from CA were good tough contenders in the 80s

yeah, that's a great choice also. Can't believe I forgot them. Probably the only other family that can give the Spink a run for their money

    Good list.

Would add the Galaxy twins, Klitschko brothers (although I expect some backlash for this one due to the hate Wlad gets on here lol), Wilfredo Vazquez Sr. and Jr.

Really has to be the Spinks doesn't it. I mean they have three world champions as opposed to the usual two, plus the gold medals and lineal/undisputed championships. Quite insane when you think about it.

If floyd senior had accomplished a little more you could make the case for them.

Yeah he was a good contender in a tough era.

    Jeff wasn't very good though.

Meaning Floyd plus Roger is greater than Michael plus Leon which leaves Cory having to be way way better than Floyd Sr. and I don't think he really was... how would Cory Spinks have done against guys like Leonard and Starling? Appreciably better?

I think the Mayweathers have a legit case vs the Spinks clan

And obviously the Marquez brothers is another contender

Holy fuck, yeah that's an obvious contender. And yeah, the Mayweather also have a case.

A lot less clear cut that I thought at first

Same here... Spinks seemed a no brainer to me at first but it's definitely debatable

Cory definitely achieved more than Floyd. And why isn't it Floyd and Roger vs. Micheal and Cory? With Leon also achieving more than Floyd Sr.? It is debatable.

Cory achieved more but if you and I have the same job where we have to drive a car from point A to point B and your drive is through downtown Damascus and mine is through downtown Milwaukee, I'm probably going to going to get the job completed more often than you will (i.e. "Achieve more") ... have them switch places and Cory's not achieving much either

My point is just that clan Mayweather vs clan Spinks is not a clear cut thing

It's the third brother, Barry Klitschko, who lets them down. Just sits at home smoking weed and playing PlayStation, never had a job. A stain on the family name.

I'd give it to the Mayweather's.

Mike Spinks was an atg, but Leon was just too mediocre for this to be an argument.

With the Mayweather's, Floyd Junior is an atg, Roger was a very good fighter, and Floyd Senior was a very solid journeyman, like a much better Broner.

Sure Spinks have three champions as opposed to the usual two but it’s about quality not quantity. Michael Spinks is the star of the family but Leon was a weak link even though he was an Olympic champion and beat Ali and Corey did well but he’s rather forgettable also.

Floyd and roger Mayweather alone in aggregation trump the spinks family IMO. Marquez brothers too. Klitschko brothers three.

Don’t get me wrong I get the argument for the Spinks family as having three undisputed world champions and two Olympic gold medals is a spectacular achievement for a family but I think we have to dig a little deeper than just those surface stats
