Hard to say. You know if Lopez moves to 147 and Bud beats him down that "it was too high for Lopez 140 his his best weight" will be the cry.

Welter is a poor, top heavy division these days. You got two KNOWN good guys and one of them is a former car wreck survivor .

Boxrec top 10 has Brook at 4. Mike Garcia at 7, I think. These are not top 147 dudes. Brook is worn. Mikey's a midget.

So Buds chances are badly limited outside of fighting Spence himself.

 

A win over Charlo sure would help.

Either way, I think it should apparent now that Bud is higher caliber than Spence.

The Porter who fought Spence was the same Porter who fought Bud, and you see the difference in how Shawn turned out.

It also seems doubtful to win that Brook, even on his best day, would push Bud.

 

Spence wore Brook out. Bud took Brook out. That's the difference. Bud just went up there gears in 3 seconds. Spence doesn't do that. I think that's largely where they differ apart from the obvious.

Spence can't switch into a diff gear like that.
