Yes? No? Evidence for either opinion??? Just reading through the threads, one gets the feeling that there are some of you out there who believe Vitali to be on the slide, maybe even shot. So...is he? On the slide? Shot? Just fine?
Dunno if he is slipping or just some style of fighters are just makin him look more awkward than he usually is... On the slide or not, he is still winning every round against the fighters he is fighting, and brutalizing them as it happens. He isn't shot but he probably is slipping, but even if he is, its still not enough for any of these heavyweights to take advantage...the only one to beat Vitali would be Wlad, and we won't see that happen. And thats not to say Wlad would win, just he has the only chance.
He's not shot, especially not compared to the rest of the division. He has slid at bit. He looked slow as shit against Arreola. Against Kevin Johnson.............he did what he could against somebody who didn't want to engage so it's hard to tell even though his face was marked up a little to much then it should have been considering he barely got hit. He is getting up there in age so it's understandable.
He is not at his physical best anymore, very few at the age of 38 are, but his style makes up plenty of it. He still is prettydamn effective
I think he is faded badly. The VK who fought Lennox Lewis would knock Arreola out in a maximum of 3 rounds. His punches have a little less velocity(yes, slower than normal). He needs to hang them up. Who is there to fight.Yeah, I know Dymy Ruiz::::)Yes. He is very much past his prime. Like everything else, there are 2 ways or more to look at everything. Going 9 or 10 rounds with a bum like Chris Arreola is a loss if you are an elite fighter.
No he is not shot at all. A shot fighter doesn't dominate guys, even guys like Arreola and that fucking idiot Johnson etc. A shot fighter doesn't get hit as little as Vitali does. He's slowed down, which as others have said - is to be expected. He IS 38. But he hasn't slipped much, he's still "sharp" if you can really use that term to define him. Sharp in his own, sloppy, awkward way :: The only reason he didn't stop Johnson, is Johnson fought like a total coward, like a bit fat Dirrell.
I think he has slipped but that there has also been a change in his attitude as a fighter. When Vitali fought Sanders, Williams, and that one-time prospect Ed Mahone, he brutalised them. They came forward and tried to fight and Vitali beat them down. Arreola presented far more opportunities for Vitali to land than Vitali took, but I dont think its simply because Vitali cannot pull the trigger with the same efficacy anymore, its also because he is thinking differently, thinking more about letting the other fella land less. Arreola and Johnson were also fresh, not likely to fold too easy, but Mahone was undefeated when Vitali took him out in a few rounds so who knows Also, I think Vitali was too eager in the Johnson fight and lept in too much with the right, which made him look goofy and exposed him to the left a bit too much- more than Johnson would have landed if Vitali fought smarter, for example. 1000+ punches in 12 rounds is not evidence of shotness, but it also begs the question, why did he need to land that many.
I think Vitali is definately slipping a bit, as he should. After all, he is 38. He looked slower in his last 2 fights and his punches definately don't have the same pop that they used to have. He should definately consider getting out soon.
His latest performances are not as impressive looking. I think he may have slipped a tad. He is certainly not as agressive as he used to be.
This is pretty much exactly how I see it. He's not as good as he once was, I suppose, but he's 38 FFS and it's not like he's even come close to losing to anyone for a very long time. MTF
Physically he may be slowing down,.. but mentally he's in his prime,.. we'll have to wait and see against a better opponent than Johnson, who's a revolting spoiler,.. nobody looks good against a spoiler,.. who looks good against Hopkins for example??. I remember a time, where Vitali could throw nothing but straights,.. it seemed like he threw the first uppercut in his life against Lewis after being nailed by one, and he thought,.. "Hey, that's a good idea!" ,..it also seemed like he threw his first body-shot against Kirk Johnson,.. These days he throws a variety of punches and mixes them up, I do think he's got it together mentally, but physically,.. he's always been a bit injury prone, so perhaps another breakdown might be in order, he may need the same super juice that Pacquioa is full of, to keep the sockets and bones together, and BUZZ with supernatural power.
Oh ok, now I see,.. just went to Figtnews and found out that Arabham got beaten by Lundgren Jr,.. sorry to hear that.
That was disturbing. Two CLEAR genetical inbreds. I'm not joking either, they really don't look quite 'right'.
no! not "elusive"....but "illusive"....giving the impression of being elusive...the...illusion of eluding, as it were.....his boobs a-kimbo, as "ZANE" chases him down.
:::: LOL! How is he "shot" ? :: this is some BS right here.. claimin that he is "shot" .. isn't he like 32 years old ? he never even had a prime and he is shot? I think he is just a really award big robot bum who will get found out and schooled one day like he was a drunken plumber in Kruevizitakan.. just stumbleing around after workin on a job, 10 beers or so in him then he stumbles onto a pro boxer.. that's the type of fight I wanna see him in, someone needs to just school him like they were his daddy and show him what time it is
