Toney was a level above Kessler, and would outclass him - Kessler would take a beating down the stretch, and there's a possibility of JT getting a late stoppage.

Kessler was quality in his one dimension, but didn't have versality or creativity in his style. He also had a bad tendency of pulling straight back from shots, and had questionable resistance to body shots.

As long as it's a good version of Toney, I don't see how Kessler has any chance.

Agreed. While Kessler was a pretty good fighter he was too basic and predictable for somebody like Toney. Close for the first 3/4 rounds and then JT starts to take over.

Outclassing might be a bit strong of a word, but a clear 9-3 for Toney

Toney wins a clear decision, in a 8-4/9-3 type fight
