I wont believe it until they officially have a press confrence. And for the record, I hope Pavlik rids us of the stink that is Sharmain Taylor.

    Slam Dunk

Kelly will tear him to pieces, X!
But I don't know if Jermain has the balls to fight the young KO artist.
Your wish will come true if it happens as Jermain is getting his head torn off after his body is broken in half, and he knows it.

I'll believe it when I see it. That said, I wouldn't put Taylor in tough again right away. He really needs alot of work.

In theory, yes. But Pavlik/Arum could always settle for step-aside money.

The Ouma fight was designed for Jermain to look spectacular. He didn't. They then turned to even lighter-hitting Cory. Jermain still didn't look good.

How much softer can he, as THE middleweight champ, be matched?

    Calzaghe?:dunno:

just playin, but I really thought he would try to make the Calzaghe fight. I made the most sense to me. Big money, Calzaghe isn't a puncher, and he wouldn't have to fight Pavlik.

You're out of your natural mind. Check the sig bandwagon. Join while you can.

Taylor exposes Kelly as being a tough, talented but limited contender.

Taylor will fall apart when Kelly pressures him. I think his chin is shit. I'm picking Kelly to ice him late. If Taylor wins though, he'll gain back some respect from me.

Pavlik was gasping like a fish out of water in his post fight interview {Miranda}. People need to face it, Miranda was weight drained and was easy to hit anyways. Pavlik isn't going to destroy Taylor. Me might beat him, and its a long shot at that, but he isn't going to "destroy" anyone. :nono:

Taylor couldn't expose three junior middleweights, how the hell is he going to expose a killer like Pavlik who is gonna be on him like white on rice?
    Come on, man.
Jermain has become the most protected champion since Floyd Patterson.

    Very poignant analogy.

Jermaine fights to the level of his opposition. Don't forget that he was the man to stop Hopkins' run of victories..and Hopkins wasn't DONE yet, evidenced by his easy victory over twice jones' conquerer, Tarver..at the higher weight.

Yes, he beat Hopkins both fights fair and square.
I like Jermain, and I picked him to win in every fight he has ever had.
I just think he peaked last year and isn't going to get any better, and Pavlik is just too hungry and hits too hard and often for the guy.
I saw Kelly in person about four feet away in Houston Summer before last, and that guy is scary in there!
The dude is absolutely posessed on hurting the other guy and punches nonstop.
Jermain had better try to keep that fight in ring center double and triple jabbing (which he can b e quite good at) to set up his right hand, and make a boring, ugly fight out of it by holding Kelly when he gets inside if he hopes to win, and maybe try butting Pavlik open to have a good shot at victory.

Don't get me wrong, Stinger, I by no means think it's an easy fight for Jermaine. Pavlik is very good: strong, powerful, fit, tough...

But I think speed and experience KILLS...and because of that Jermaine will take him into deeper waters than he's used to and win a decision...7-5 or something like that.

Oh for Christ sake, is Taylor gonna forever live off Hopkins? Its not like he was even impressive in "beating" B-Hop(which i dont think he did). He simply won cause Nard was extra cautious, and Taylor had more energy. Pavlik isnt as good as Hopkins, but at the same time, he fights differently. He's not gonna fuck around and shimmy his shoulders to Jermain the way Hop did, he's gonna attack him and try to take him out. He'll force Taylor to fight, and Jermain WILL fight back, and that'll be his undoing.

If speed and experience always killed, then Zab woulda wasted Cotto last night. It doesnt always work that way. Yes Jermain is faster than Pavlik, but experience? Jermain has NEVER faced a puncher in his career, this will be his fight one. What kinda experience does he have facing a guy of Pavlik's style? Zero!

Well, there's different kinds of experience. For instance, Pavlik has never gone twelve rounds (or ten, for that matter)...and certainly not against anything close to a world class fighter or under the glaring spotlight of an HBO main event.

I'm curious to see how his stamina holds up in a fight like that, where he'll have to do just a little bit more to find his target than he did against Miranda.

Taylor understands how to win rounds...even unimpressivley. I think this fight comes down more to simple physical ability than anything else and Taylor's a better athlete and should prove to be the better conditioned late in the fight where I think he distances himself on the scorecards.

Pavlik should have moments and be dangerous throughout, but I don't think that means he wins.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
Taylor will implement his superior boxing skills the way he did in the amatuers, (beating Pavlik's arse), his excellent jab, and his superior athletic ability will cohesiate perfectly in essentially schooling Pavlik over the distance. Kelly is inferior in all forms of speed, and his defence is rather poor, Taylor will capitalise on any of this one dimensional brawling slop that Pavlik is sure to resort to late in the fight, it'll only get easier and easier for Taylor as the fight wears on.

Exactly. And since when was Taylor fast? He might have a SLIGHT edge in speed and movement over Pavlik, but he is not exactly a speed demon.

I don't even think he beat hopkins, and he certainly didn't look like a speed demon there either against a 40 year old, just a little more active at times.

It's rare for me to jump on a bandwagon so to speak, but despite pavlik's occasional sloppiness and so so defence, the guy is a fucking beast at middleweight.

To be honest I think taylor is a pathetic champion. I thought he lost to Nard AND Winky, especially Winky. And his recent fight against Spinks? Jesus.

Zab stopped spinks for fuck's sake.

Jermain is big and has a jab. Thats two things that Miranda didn't have. Jermaine is at least 2 inches taller than Miranda and thats a help. I can't help laughing at how SLOW Pavlik can be at times. Don't underestimate Manny Steward on this one either.:nono:

    I liken this to Wlad-Peters.

Manny will guide Taylor to points win against the undefeated brawler, one way or the other.

Talyor is tall enough and just smart enough to take advantage of Kellys mistakes and lack of movement.

It will be close but once it gets to the Cards....Taylor W 12 Pavlik:nono:
