January 28th at Mandalay Bay. Charlo is hot favourite at -250 ($1.40 or 2/5) - sounds about right. I think Tszyu is underdone from a resume/hard fight perspective and will probably lose by KO. He has done the well worn Australian fighter route i.e. a few good amateur fights, fight some low level domestic guys, upgrade to some OK domestic guys at the end of their careers (Jeff Horn, Dennis Hogan ), beat a couple of Top 15 guys somewhat unconvincingly then a massive step up to a seasoned champion where it all usually unravels. Tszyu has one advantage though - the almost identical team that trained and managed Kostya is doing it with him. He has a good right cross and left to the body like his old man. But I see it as a step too far too early. Tszyu also has a low-ish workrate like his Dad and likes room/time to set himself up. Has not had a very hard fight where he has come from behind. Get in his face and he doesn't like it. Charlo TKO 10. Fun fact - Kostya fought at Mandalay Bay twice (Mitchell 1 and Tackie)
I also see it as a step too far. I'm expecting for Charlo to take Tim apart and stop him inside of 10. I'm rooting for Tszyu though.
How fucking old are we? I swear to God, it seems just yesterday when we were all breaking down Tszyu vs Judah on the forums. Now Kostya's kid is a grown man and we're analyzing his upcoming big fight. It's surreal.
Charlo has the worst attitude, what I like is..he keeps that attitude when it's time to throw them thangs!
