    Ricardo Lois:

"Golden Boy believes it can make Guzman, who they co-promote with Sycuan, against Valero. Oscar de la Hoya is very friendly with Akihiko Honda and the Teiken team. It may not be possible to stage this event in America due to Valero's being denied a New York license several years ago. Valero had a brain injury from a motorcycle accident in his native country," the source which did not want to be identified told Boxingconfidential.com.

"Golden Boy is working with serveral concepts on possibly getting Edwin licensed in the U.S.," the source said. "If they can't maybe they will take this blockbuster fight to Mexico, to Venezuela or to the Dominican Republic."

Good fight on paper but in reality a bloody mismatch with Guzman winning every round until stopping a bloodied and bruised Valero by the 8th round.

    I agree.
Valero is not in his class as a fighter.

I'd like to see it but i assume there would be a lot of things getting in the way of it being made.

I think it's a complete shit fight on paper.

Guzman has been able to make guys like Barrios and Soto have pretty boring fights. That's not easy to do.

Valero should at least try to make a lot money before he takes on challenges that offer so little in return. That means fighting guys like Barrios and Soto and staying away from guys like Guzman and Casamayor...for now.

Don't sleep on Valero guys, he's a killer. It's a shame how he's regressed since being banished from boxing in the States.

You have to favor Guzman... but don't be shocked if Valero gets some work done. This is a great fight to make at 130. It's nice to see the contenders fighting each other.

guzman will get hit, and that will be the end. Valero is a monster. I feel sorry for his situation, and I hope someone gives him a license. Hell, even Joe Mesi got one after almost getting killed, and holyfield is still fighting. :dunno:

    Nah...I'm sleeping.

Valero has no defense and is used to bombing out mexican tomato cans in one or 2 rounds. All this adds up to him being SPENT after chasing Guzman aimlessly for 7 rounds while eating sharp counters.

    Valero is getting destroyed!
