A work colleague told me this the other day, and then proceeded to brag in the office that he told the company “boxing oracle" (big fish–small pond), something that he did not know about boxing. This strikes me as implausible. Wouldn't a routine pre-fight medical test peripheral vision? Has anybody else heard anything about this?
I was aware Frazier had complaints with his vision as far back as the FOTC (Circa), owing to diabetic issues, but partially blind since his amateur days? Thats news to me, if true.
Your Co-Worker is full of Shit...In Honor of Frazier, You Should hit the Co-Worker in the MOUTH w/a Left Hook.... REED:fightme:
there's alot of info about Frazier being partially blind...Frazier even mentions this, and about how he got past vision tests dunno if it's since 1964 though...that's probably bs
This sounds like some good, old fashioned Bert Sugar-esque nonsense. "A totally blind Frazier was ready to die like Biggie in Manila. He also had only one working kidney and a very low sperm count at the time thanks to some hard-charging sex with Filipina spinners the night before". Yeah, Ok, more of this Runyon-esque nonsense.
A leaping left, and make sure he hits the ground. Then tell him to brag about THAT to everyone in the office.
He also needs to hit him on the way down, and make sure there is a small, after-fight riot,to give the incident historical resonance which will mark it out as an ATG office fight, and not just any old incident.
not necessarily one totally blind eye, but I thought it was pretty well-documented that he had some major issues long before he ever fought Ali That's one of the biggest reasons that Futch stopped the third one, the good eye was closed completely, the bad eye was still open... Frazier could no longer see with any clarity... that's the way accounts of that night have always read and it was echoed by Frazier, Futch and the other guys around his camp back then (Georgie Benton, Willie Monroe)... the issue was brought up in that Manila documentary on HBO a couple of years ago I'm surprised the guys here seem like they are hearing this for the first time, frankly, I thought it was old news.
REED Knew Frazier Had SOME Issues w/his Eye, but NOT Since '64...It's NOT as if Frazier Won an Olympic Medal AND the Heavyweight Championship of the World w/1 Eye... Ray Leonard had "Issues" w/his Eye as Well, but No One Waxes Poetic by Giving him "Blind" Credit... REED:mj:
