Prime for prime of course. Prime Bowe took a good shot so I don’t see him going quickly but his defense really messes him up here imo. I think the Brown Bomber takes him out mid to late rounds because he’d simply land too many flush shots.

    Louis ruins Bowe IMO.

Riddick was far too hittable for Joe.

Yeah, Bowe is too easy a target. I dont favor Bowe over any of the divisions great punchers, with the one exception being Marciano.

I think he gets stopped by Lewis, Louis, Mike, George, Frazier, and Liston.

Louis fought better against guys who went toe-to-toe with him as opposed to guys who fight with a hippity-hop style, which Bowe won't do

Bowe indeed had a porous defense and Louis was at his best against large guys, but Bowe was much better than Buddy, Abe Simon or Carnera so the results aren't really comparable. I'd go with Bowe

The problem is that Bowe got hit extremely flush with every punch. He didn't roll with anything. He didn't block anything. He didn't parry anything. All shots landed on the button. There is no other heavyweight great that got as flush as Bowe, and as consistently. Which explains why he can't complete a sentence now.

His chin was solid, but not great, and it's worth mentioning over and over again that he never fought an elite puncher. His legacy is built on a trilogy with a great fighter, but not a huge puncher.

When you get hit consistently, and it's ALWAYS flush, and your chin is not granite, then there's no reason to favor you over the best offensive fighter in history.

The thing is, bowe was pretty good offensively himself, and much bigger than louis. And as i said before, louis, as good as he was, has been kd and hurt by guys who doesn't punch as hard as bowe. I'm more concerned about louis not being able to take bowe shots than vice versa.

But its for sure a great matchup, and louis could indeed knock bowe silly, but odds favor bowe imo
