Tapia's people went out of their way to avoid this one and for good reason

Johnson is faster, punches harder and is just flat out a better boxer. And when he was young he had a dependable chin

115 - Johnson becomes the first to stop Tapia (assuming the fight would've taken place before Tapia's career worst performance a couple of years ago)

    118 - Tapia by Decision.

I've never thought this fight would be as easy as the forum seems to think it would be every time it's brought up...

I am a big Too Sharp fan, but the fact is that for all of his skill and speed he often punched wide and left himself open up the middle, tended to lunge, and spent time trying to lay traps instead of jabbing and boxing.

I think he would often be vulnerable to a quick-punching, crisp/short-punching, mobile boxer of Tapia's talent.

And I don't think Johnson was necessarily faster, either.

I think this would be a tough fight at 115...I don't think Mark knocks Tapia out, but wins by competitive/close decision.

    Peace.
