http://www.fightnews.com/?p=37155#more-37155 "The Saints began the season by winning their first thirteen games and, it seemed against all odds, became Super Bowl Champions. It means that God is still using me to deliver positive messages to people,†said Jones. Is Roy now the first gazillion time world champion and SuperBowl winner? I wish god loved me as much as he loves Roy.
LOL! ElT posted this in TAAA, and I thought it was a joke. :: Turns out, Roy truly is an inspiration for all of us, and if anybody knows about the concept of "team sports", it's gotta be Mr. Jones. As a matter of fact, Roy loves team sports so much, he used to schedule fights on the same days he played basketball for the semi-pro team he was on. Everybody knows one of the main components of "team sports", is exploiting your "team" for the purposes of marketing your individuality as part of a publicity stunt. :bears:
Lets hope the ring announcer doesn't forget to mention this achievement during the introductions against Hopkins. If Hopkins wins they'll be 1-1, but Roy's Super Bowl obviously keeps him higher p4p all time. Lets see Hopkins top that!
Lets hope the ring announcer doesn't forget to mention this achievement during the introductions against Hopkins. "Introducing the former blah blah champion, THE CURRENT, reigning Super Bowl champion of the wooorrrrllldddd, ROY JONES JR" If Hopkins wins they'll be 1-1, but Roy's Super Bowl obviously keeps him higher p4p all time. Lets see Hopkins top that!
Did Hopkins give an 'inspirational' speech that season? To be honest I don't think it does. Who are we to question gods will? Roy is clearly the chosen one - he can inspire flowers to bloom in winter, make cock fighting seem cool, and get KO'd by someone who has their eyes closed. Hopkins should not be punished for being unable to do these things.
Turns out Roy was in training camp of all 32 teams to raise awareness of what too many blows to the head, that one extra concussion, can do to the greatest of athletes.
god, thanks for giving me looks like Brad Pitt, the body of David Haye (:hump:), the fighting skills of Steven Seagal, the brains of Einstein, and the modesty of Gandhi. I give you all the credit big fella.
Has anybody in history won titles at both middleweight and heavyweight, and then went on to win a super bowl?
No. It makes it even more remarkable that Jones won the Super Bowl, on his own and way past his prime. Had he gone for it in his prime, I think he had won the game 120-0
Do you think as he ran for a touchdown, he'd stop before the line, put the ball behind his back and dodge a few tackles before stepping over?
....i guess talking in the 3rd person is passé in 2010. I'm interested to see where he takes this next. Who's above God?....Al Gore? :dunno:
Does Roy have a couple of fins he can loan Evander? Or has he used up all his miracles for this fiscal year?
Roy in his prime is as gifted aboxer as I've ever seen. I do, however, think that his chin and heart are and were very below average...Roy needs to retire
Can't really understand why I used to be such a huge Jones fans. Now, I hope Hopkins koes him brutally in the 1st
