Both primes at 140. Khan’s speed would present problems. But his lack of defense and horrible chin will make this an entertaining fight.

I got Taylor mid to late rounds.

I really don't think it's that simple, and I even said so when this was posted before, back Taylor was still undefeated, so it's not a knee-jerk reaction.

Khan did VERY WELL against southpaws. He blitzed both Judah and Alexander without either winning a round. That, and Taylor is not a devastating puncher. He has decent pop, but his left hand is nothing like Danny Garcia's left hook. There's no evidence that Josh is a bigger hitter than Alexander.

If Maidana didn't blow out Khan mid-to-late, I don't see why Josh would.

In all honesty, I've got the circa 2010 Khan beating Taylor by clear decision. I think Josh would run into a lot of the same issues he faced on Saturday. Khan's handspeed and combinations would shut down Josh's offense.

I'd be curious to see if Fimo could beat the 2010-2011 Khan. I know based on Saturday, everyone would say "of course," but I don't think it's a given. Khan would be the first opponent Fimo faced who's faster than him. You never know how a guy will react to that. And Khan was longer/rangier than Fimo.

Never thought I'd say this 12 years ago, but prime Khan is getting underrated.

Id pretty confidently take prime Khan over Josh, actually.

Last thing: I don't see Josh fairing well against the top 6 junior welters of circa 2010-2013. By that top 6, I mean (in no order): Bradley, Khan, Alexander, Danny, Matthysse, and Maidana. I think Josh loses to all six of them.

This is true. Maybe I’m selling Khan short here. It did after all take a big left hook from DSG to change that fight.

I guess a better comparison might be Peterson vs Khan seeing as Peterson wasn’t a big puncher but like Josh could be rugged and fight some on the inside which Khan wasn’t comfortable with.

But I will say, Khan’s hand speed is definitely something Taylor hasn’t seen before. Taylor would probably in fact NEED to KO Khan to win.

That super wide base that Josh has is absolutely HORRIBLE for trying to track down a fast footed guy.

I think Khan's jab alone would break Josh's rhythm. Once Khan's combos follow, forget it, Josh is a step behind all night.

Taylor actually matches up better versus Danny than he does Khan.

    I'd probably take Khan.

Btw it is interesting how even Khan, perhaps the most mocked fighter of this forum, is turning into a good old days guy. For what it's worth, Taylor at one point was a p4p top-10 guy, which Khan never was.

Is it a sign of that the level of the sport is still in decline, or is this about how we view the sport, I'm not sure.

No, that's just your perception of things. I never said Khan was a great. He just has a bad style for Josh.

I mainly say that Khan has become underrated because in recent months I've seen a lot of comparisons between Ryan and Khan. I always said that comparison was an insult to Amir.

BTW, iirc, I do think that circa 2011 Khan made it onto the lower half of the P4P 10. He had that streak where he beat Kotelnik, Paulie, Maidana, then Zab. At that point I'm pretty sure we had him on P4P lists. He fell off of it when he lost to Peterson then Danny.

I think it's a given. Even the Fimo that lost to Kambozos probably catches Khan at some point even if he has to drop a bunch of rounds. The "regular: version would for certain and i don't think he'd have too much trouble with the box-bot hand speed either.
