    From his own mouth:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Juan Diaz: I have what everybody wants, I'm on top of the world right now being 23 and a two-time world champion. They're going to have to carry me out in a stretcher.

ok Juan, is you say so

Please! Juan is gonna kick Julio's ass! And I say this as a Juan detractor.

I hope your right, but I honestly dont think he stands a chance. It'll be a great fight, Julio will have his moments early, but after 6-7 rounds, I think it'll become a one sided fight in favor of Juan.

I liek both guys and Julio is a good fighter and will shake Juan, and it should be a good first 4 or 5 rounds until Juan takes over and beats him down for a TKO.

Too many Diaz' - even Juan's getting them mixed up. I gotta say, though, it seems uncharacteristc of him to claim anyone's going out on a stretcher (even himself  ). That's something normally reserved for Julio's schtick.

I'm with Karl on this one - a competitve fight early develops into a mid-to-late rounds rout in favor of Juan.

Yeah....way back when I leaned towards Julio, but now?

Juan Diaz will eventually overwhelm Julio with activity en route to a decision win.

Other than Casa,NO CURRENT Lightweight has a Realistic Chance of BEATING Juan Diaz...

& Even Casa would B an UNDERDOG N REED's Opinion...

Juan ISN'T the Most TALENTED Cat & he DOESN'T Punch Terribly HARD w/1 Shot, but the PACE he Carries & his WORKRATE Make Up for Everything...Even when he Still had some BabyFat on him,Juan had TREMENDOUS Stamina...Now that he's TRIMMER,he's Taken his Endurance to a HIGHER Level...

Diaz would CROWD the Shit Out of Casa & Wear his Old Ass DOWN...It'd B Similar to the Freitas Fight, only Casa WOULDN'T Quit...

It's Gonna Take a PUNCHER or a STRONGER MAN to Beat Juan Diaz @ 135...That Man Currently DOESN'T Exist...

Juan BEATS Julio Diaz by a LATE Stoppage or a UNANIMOUS Decision (Dropping Julio @ Least Twice N the Process)...

Julio isn't physcially strong enough to handle Juan's pressure. Julio won't fold like Freitas, but he'll stop trying to win after 7 rounds.

Juan's stamina is better now that he's lost some pudge? Based on what?

There are guys that can beat Juan...Peterson could KO him...Hlatschwayo could straight out outpoint him...

Because Juan doesn't hit that hard, he gives everyone a chance to do their thing against him. He's just got his thing down so well, he's going to be a bitch to beat...but it will happen soon enough so long as he stays in the upper echelon with guys like Freitas and Julio.

    Well...of COURSE, bro.

    I don't know about Hlatshwayo.

You know what fight I'd love to see? Juan Diaz-Katsidis.

    Peace.

A couple of folks at the fights last night brought up the possibility that all of this drama at the gym may work against him, but I still think he crunches Julio.

Uuuuuuh,Based on the FACT that he WOULD Show Fatigue Down the Stretch,PRIOR to Winning the Title???:dunno: ...Juan is 1 of those Guys that Became BETTER after Winning a Title...He Shows up N BETTER Shape & his "Game" has RISEN to Another Level....

Peterson Still HASN'T Been TESTED...REED is VERY HIGH on Peterson(Presuming U're Talking about ANTHONY),but Let's See someone HIT him BACK 1st...

HlatcshWHATEVER Couldn't Keep Juan OFF of him...

Sure,Juan Diaz WILL LOSE,but REED doesn't See ANY CURRENT Lightweights that'll Get it Done...MAYBE Peterson N a YEAR or So,but Not NOW...

    Good post.
From what I have been hearing REED, Julio is training like there is no manana for this one, but Juan always trains like that as well year round.
That is going to be the difference here, superior conditioning.
A lot of fight insiders like his chances here against Juan with all of Juan's problems as far as a head trainer is concerned, and one guy last night told me he thought Juan looked "scared" in that photo of the two together at the press conference.
I am not one of them though, and I like Juan to stop Julio late via accumulation shots to the head and body.

REED Finds that HARD to Believe:lol: ...

It would have Made MORE Sense for Juan to B "Scared" Going N 2 the Freitas Fight,Considering that's THE Biggest Name Juan's Ever Faced...

    Julio Diaz ISN'T a Bad Fighter & he's CAPABLE of BEATING Juan,but he ISN'T the "Fear Inducing" Type,Whatsoever:nono: ...

Even if Julio BEATS Juan,it WON'T B Because Juan was "Scared"...

I can't go against the activity of Juan just yet. I think this'll be a pounding, and Julio will suffer.

I gotta agree with this post. There is no way in hell Juan is afraid of Julio. After the Freitas whuppin I gotta think that Juan's confidence is at an all-time high. Now as far as the trainer thing is concerned. I think that the whole thing was weak as hell and it could have been handled in a more professional manner. I'll Holla 5000

Well dawg, I hear what you are saying and I respect your point.
But, Mr. Savannah is old school and has trained Juan in his gym since he was eight years old.
I heard a lot of conflicting opinions the other night, and more than a few folks voiced your assesment of the matter.
Juan is going to tear Julio to pieces after Julio has some goodmoments in the first several rounds.

I don't consider this a competitive match up. Juan is gonna dominate.
