Well, he is (and has been) the true lightweight champion of the world for sometime now, so congrats to Juan who has always been gracious in allowing us here at fightbeat access to his camp.:bears:

The kid is actually a very informed poster here from Australia, one of the better ones we have had throughout the past four years here on the www.
He just rubs me the wrong way (and I am sure I do him as well) as far as posting here goes.
No one here will ever say truthfully, that I had a problem with his boxing knowledge.
I do somewhat have a problem with the language and profanity that he comes across, but I will forget that for the betterment of the site.

I didn't say a damn thing about Juan Diaz. I aimed my disgust at the back-flipping WBA who released press to the effect of removing their 'super champion' practice. It's interesting now that they've chose to turn that around, when the move to get rid of the extra belts was almost universally applauded.

As for your apology. Thanks. I appreciate it, but I'd have appreciated it more if there wasn't a need for one in the first place, or if it didn't take another thread being cleaned up before you were forced into making one.

Yep, I remember looking that up after you posted and you were correct.
But it also seems like there was another instance of the wba superchampioning even before Diaz/Freitas...or maybe it was Diaz/Freitas where I noticed it and didn't say anything? hmmmm

Anyway, I like the idea of the superchamp (longer mandatories to meet the other obligations being the main reason). It's not calling the lower level champ an interim champ, but instead, calling it the 'regular' champ that is complete bullshit.

Anthony Mundine a world champ? No frigging way. Not yet, anyway.

Mundine is one hell of a fighter, as was his father.
Tony Mundine would have had a year or two spell as middleweight champion of the world had he not participated in the best era of the greatest of all, Carlos Monzon.
Anthony does everything right, and by the book.
He may perhaps be another Nino Benvenuti in the historic sense when it is all well and done.

I agree with most of what you say about both Mundine's. They both suffer/ed from something of a suspect beard however, but I guess you just have to appreciate Anthony's technique that much more, for surviving so long at the top, with just the one KO loss.

He tends to hold a little too much for my liking though.

Super champ is stupid. I like Juan Diaz. He's in my top 5 fav fighters right now for sure. I don't blame him, the WBA is just retarded. I hope he gets the other two abc belts and then fights Casaopcorn:
