This fight could be made anyday now! I don't know about you but this is a fatal move by Top Rank if they put in Lopez against a powerhouse like Deleon so early?

    Thoughts?

TR must've seen enough of JuanMa if they're already looking into this fight. Either that, or maybe they believe it's a replay of Spinks/Mayorga.

well if Lopez's chin holds up there's no reason he can't win this fight. i certainly don't see De Leon out-boxing Lopez. either he knocks him out or he loses, no?

In theory you're right. But why rush Lopez toward the top now, when he's still at least a couple of years away before reaching his prime years? If his best (in fact, only) chance is to outbox him, then he's better served to further develop his skills, thereby maximizing his chances.

I mean damn, Arum waited seven years before finally letting Miguel Cotto take on Top 5 contenders. JuanMa sure as hell ain't no Miguel Cotto. He might not even pan out to be Juan Miguel Cotto for all we know

    Tooo EARLY for Lopez...

It's Very EASY to UNDERestimate Ponce DeLeon,Based on how STIFF & SLOW he Looks...REED has Been Guilty of that as Well...But that Cat's POWER is TopNotch...

U've Got to B FOCUSED for 3 Minutes of EVERY Round w/that Cat...

Lopez will be a nightmare for Ponce de Leon. His accurate right hook will crush that chin throughout the fight, until Ponce falls in surrender to the feet of the puertorican :bears::cheer:

    My bandwagon is still open....

Penalosa's Also about 4 Ft Tall & as Such Ponce OVERSHOT his Punches Throughout the Fight...

Penalosa Either DUCKED or Rolled AWAY from Ponce's Power All Night...

Penalosa's a WELL SCHOOLED,VET...Even if Juan Manuel Lopez has a BETTER Career than Penalosa,he's NOT on Penalosa's Level just Yet...
