This fight could be made anyday now! I don't know about you but this is a fatal move by Top Rank if they put in Lopez against a powerhouse like Deleon so early? Thoughts?

lopez got tagged against a light punching hugo dianzo. dianzo also hurt him at one point but couldnt follow up. i think de leon knocks this cocky rican the fuck out.
In theory you're right. But why rush Lopez toward the top now, when he's still at least a couple of years away before reaching his prime years? If his best (in fact, only) chance is to outbox him, then he's better served to further develop his skills, thereby maximizing his chances. I mean damn, Arum waited seven years before finally letting Miguel Cotto take on Top 5 contenders. JuanMa sure as hell ain't no Miguel Cotto.
