Often people say "a good boxer usually beats a good puncher", but Jackson isn't your typical big puncher, and had some respectable skills of his own.

How does this one turn out?

It turns out EXACTLY as the adage:

"A good boxer beats a good puncher".

Wright's defense (and chin) nullifies Jackson's one punch power.

I don't know wins this fight. It can seriously go either way. The big question is can Jackson break through Wrights defense? I will let some of you debate I'm curious to see what you think. In my opinion if Jackson breaks through Wrights defense Winky is toast.

Hernandez, Candello, Vargas, Simon, Vasquez, Soliman, Quartey, McKart...ALL hit Wright quite a lot. Jackson was a better fighter than the lot of them and hit harder than each combined.

    Jackson would stop Wright, IMO.

I agree with you but what didnt Wright perfect his style later on in his career? He didnt give Mosley or Trinidad much to hit

I forgot about Mosley. He hit Wright a lot as well, he was just way too small to do much with it. Trinidad? Well...the less said about his effort the better. He was pathetic. I forgot about Taylor as well. He busted Wright up, even if he lost that fight.

Wright didn't perfect his style late in his career, he just got marquee fights to show it off. Marquee fights made for him.

Beat me to it. Winky become quite overrated after the Tito fight.

If Vargas could touch up Wright, Jackson could stretch him. Y'all actin like Winky's chin is granite. The hardest puncher he ever faced at 154 put him on his ass 5 times.

I agree. You have made some good points. With this being said, Wright gets stretched.

Wright is a good fighter, but he's hardly a 154 lb version of a prime Whitaker or Marlon Starling when it comes to defense. Wright has been hit often in quite a few of his fights. And Jackson wasn't just an Earnie Shavers all power and no skills type fighter...he had decent hand speed and skills. Wright will be right in front of Jackson and that could mean trouble for Wright.

Jackson by mid-rounds KO with Wright ahead on the cards.

Stop! They have come up with valid points here and I must agree Wright gets starched. The Trinidad vicotry is becoming overated. Wright has been down and hit plenty of times by lesser quality fighters. Jackson KHTFO.
