From Fightnews K2 wins purse bid! By Lisa Scott Fightnews has learned that K2 Promotions has won the purse bid for the IBF heavyweight championship bout between title holder Wladimir Klitschko and #1 ranked Alexander Povetkin. K2’s bid of $13,130,130., outshone Sauerland’s of $8,114,140. Is that the highest bid since Lewis retired? Besides Povetkin winning anyway, can´t really blame him for going through with the fight. He alone will make more than Chagaev and Valuev will make combined for their rematch.
Good fight. One of the best that can be made in the division. Hopefully it lands on HBO in December...it would seem if they're that far above the Sauerland offer that there's money coming from somewhere.
Will the fight be in Germany? I hope it is near the Dutch border. In that case I will go to the fight.

I know, it makes you wonder how much HBO kicked in for this fight for K2 to invest THAT heavily. That said, Dec, 13 has the potential to be the worst broadcast of all time. Klitschko live (or at least same-day tape delay), preceded by DLH-Pac PPV replay. Lampley will be in his glory, and all of us will greatly suffer as a result.
