Looks like it’s being targeted for June 5th I. Melbourne after the fight with Haney couldn’t be made. I think Loma schools him, honestly. Styles make fights.
IF it will mean that Loma sets up the Fimo rematch then I'm all for it. As a standalone fight it is interesting but the long term options are more attractive. Loma going half way around the World is very intriguing. He must feel he can beat this guy and get that Fimo rematch.
I have zero interest in a Lopez lomachenko rematch. If lomachenko wants to move up to 140 and get knocked out in 2023 that's a silly career decision
No 9d prefer to see Loma do a Floyd or a Ward on it and bully Lopez into accepting his terms at a weight that suits Loma. We have precedent for this sort of thing. Lots.
Fuck lomachenko. Lopez should've moved up to 140 immediately after their fight. Now you wanna see a rematch at 135 three years later?
because it makes no sense at all. lopez weakens himself to make lightweight and should never fight at 135 pounds again lomachenko was already scared shitless of the guy for half the fight at the weakened weight. if lomachenko wants to go up to 140 in 2023 after he wastes a year of his life with this australian joker, to get knocked out then so be it. the prospect doesnt excite me. it wasnt an entertaining or exciting fight the first go round
I wouldn't say it's because of style, Lomachenko is quite superior to Kambozo imo Laughable take by Neil as per usual
It doesn't make sense? How the fuck does it not make sense? Say Loma beats Kambosos, he'll want to avenge his loss and Teo will want his belts back. There was no talk about Lopez being weak at 135 when he was fighting Loma. He actually bragged about how much weight he'd put on between the weigh in and the fight. The fight being at 135 or 140 doesn't change anything. Lopez struggling to make weight was just as excuse for losing to Kambosos. He's always either been a 'weight bully', and he even bragged about it. He doesn't deserve any sympathy. But that's the thing, was Loma shit scared of him? Or was he injured? We know he was actually injured coz he had surgery and has a history of that exact same injury. We also know he wasn't scared enough to change his gameplan mid fight and start putting it on Lopez. The appeal of the rematch is finding out what actually happened, and I don't see why you wouldn't wanna see that. It's either that or see Lopez getting sparked out by Taylor; or Haney getting battered by Loma. Kambosos just beat Lopez up and embarrassed him in his own home town. He's a joker now he could be fighting Loma? Furthermore, you clearly have no problem with Teo moving up to 140 and the only thing that awaits him there is a brutal KO at the hands of Josh Taylor.
i have lopez knocking taylor out at 140. and there is no way he should stay at 135. it was foolish for him to do so in the first place and crooked triller is why he was enticed into that meaningless mandatory. i have been saying since the lomachenko fight that lopez should move up and there was no sense in him shrinking down to that unnatural weight.
Good post, though I won't totally disregard that Lopez poor performance vs Kambosos was due to being dehydrated (yet him being stronger later in the fight makes it doubtful). If that's the case, him vs Taylor woyld be a banger.
Prograis still lost, and he's better all round, tougher and is more skilled than Lopez. He'd beat Lopez as well. Lopez can't KO Kambosos or Loma but he's gonna KO Taylor? Not a chance.
Oh, I didn't mean to at all. I don't believe the excuse, I think he lost because he underestimated Kambosos and fought like an idiot.
naw prograis is not more skilled than lopez. he's also slower and doesnt hit as hard. whether he is tougher is yet to be determined. lopez will be stronger and more explosive at 140lbs.
The Prograis who fought Taylor exhibited levels more than Lopez did against Kambosos. And he showed a far better chin against a much bigger puncher. TBH, I don't know why you're clinging to Lopez being quicker. The difference in speed is extremely small. We don't know whether Lopez will be more explosive and stronger. He'll likely be slower, and he'll be facing much bigger guys than he was at LW. Prograis would fuck him up. Taylor would end his career.
Lopez fought like a fucking moron in the Kambo fight. He tries that shit with Taylor and he'll get his face kicked off. I don't understand why people revere the guy. He's a good fighter but there's lots of them out there. He's got a razor thin decision over Loma who ABSOLUTELY wanted the rematch. And a loss to Kambo. His verbals after the Kambo fight were hilarious. "10-2" . Faaack off.
Lopez seems he could be one if those guys with a ton of physical talent but low boxing IQ/skills to fall back on if he cannot overwhelmed his opponent. If that's indeed the case, going up in weight will only make the later harder and harder.
