Casamayor vs Juan Diaz is the only fight that needs to be made at LW.

After casa's last fight I don't see how he could beat a young guy like Diaz though. Casa looked slow and old.

Jose Santa Cruz should be the WBC champ of the world.

why would anyone want to watch casamayor fight? better yet why would any network pay for his next match?

that said, katsidis fights nothing like santa cruz. he is wide open, and a bleeder. it would not surprise me if casamayor somehow managed to defeat him.

But he's not so someone needs to kick Casamayor's ass so he can no longer claim to be the linear LW Champ. Which he actually is until he loses.

What is the WBC going to do if Casa fights Katsidis instead of a JASC?

Regardless, I don't see why anyone - regardless of the judges decision - should still regard Casa as the champion at 135.

As far as I can tell, there is complete unanimity among those who've watched the fight (outside of the judges) that he lost.

It's a shame the judges are the only ones who can render an official decision. Therefor Casa is still the linear champ at 135. Regardless of who we think won the Casa vs Santa Cruz fight.

Which is why there are problems with the "linear" title just as there are with any alphabet title.

There was near unanimity that George Foreman beat Shannon Briggs, yet Briggs is now referred to as a linear champion.

Any titles can lose it's meaning when the decisions that determine their titlists are called into question.

I'm just saying someone needs to get rid of Casa once and for all. We all know he lost that fight to Santa Cruz, he will still run around claiming to be the man until he loses "officially"

Yup. Casamayor has been washed up for a few years now. I think a lot of people forget he should have a loss on his record to Kid Diamond and won his "title" against Chico, in a nondescript bout in Chico's first fight since being KTFO.

I like the fight for Katsidis. It makes sense for him. I agree with Z. Someone needs to take that shit in the ring. It would be nice to see Casa ktfo so he has no claim to anything. With Katsidis holding the "linear" title it would set up a very entertaining uni bout at lightweight.

It fell through due to DK threatening to sue HBO if they aired the fight. Thus, Diaz will be fighting Cambell March 8th, and Katsidis fights Casa in March 22. Most likely the winners will face eachother(hopefully that means Diaz-Katsidis).

Not sure whether its HBO or Showtime. Its gonna be on the undercard of Peter-Maskaev, so whichever network is airing that fight, I'm not sure tbh.

no one has been able to 'beat the shit outta Casa'. i doubt katsidis will be the one to do so.

he may win, but he will struggle and get banged up in the process.

Casa is a tough fight for anyone, the same way Hop is a hard fight for anyone, and as Ruiz was a tough fight for anyone(save Roy:cool: ). Casa can stink out the joint and come close to just about anyone at LW. I wouldn't touch that fight if I was Diaz. Even if he wins, it will just be ugly.

Damn that's a shame. That's a MUCH better fight than Katsidis - Casamayor. Hopefully they end up fighting.
