21 year old Japanese guy became a world champ in some midget class fighting only his seventh pro fight and defeating a titlist who was unbeaten in 40 fights or so. A friend of mine told before this bout that Ioka had looked extremely good in his first bouts and predicted this result. However I'd like to hear another opinions before giving a fair chance to a midget so has anyone seen him?
I was wondering the same thing actually Ugo. It seems insane that a guy with 6 fights could defeat someone who not only has 40 fights, but is unbeaten in 40 odd fights.
Not just winning, but sounds like he dominated. I will make time to watch this fight. Interestingly, based on the judges' scores, they may not have agreed on any round unanimously.
Here he is. Pretty impressive left to the body which decided it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHbaCJTrLpM
I really appreciate the pureness of Japanese broadcasting. It´s like you are in the arena, because apparently they have never heard of SLOW MOTION OR REPLAY. :kick:
Jesus christ those guys are small. The little Jap looks pretty legit to me. Incredibly poise for the number of fights he has, didn't seem at all wild or amateurish. He showed good defense and movement leading to the KO, blocked/slipped the shots, turned his man to the ropes and sunk in that awesome left to the body.
the thai guy he beat was very hard to beat. i remember seeing him outspeed and outbox eagle kyowa who i thought was one of the best little guys i've seen. not sure how good ioka is but it's certainly an impressive win for a young guy.
