    What happened here?
Is it just a myth or did Colonel Pavlik really lay a nightclub bouncer out with a meteor right-hand??

I can't be arsed to 'Google-it' so I thought another Pavlik-thread would be appropriate.

In fact, how many other real-life instances of professional boxers KO-ing bouncers, street-drunks or general arseholes have you heard about?

I've known plenty of boxers who have beaten up bouncers, sercurity guards and the such.

They're well trained fighters...most bouncers are just big dudes who can't really fight.

That was back in winter 2005 or first part of 2006, I think.
Kelly was out with some friends and some bouncer/security provoked him and started a fight with him and Kelly cold-cocked him is what happened.
As far as how the dispostion of the case went, I really don't know.

    A few:

    • Part of the reason Mike Tyson became a Muslim is that he pissed off one of the prison gangs. One of his first days in, a high-ranking gang member - supposedly the best fighter on the block - got in his face, and Tyson knocked him out with one punch.
    • Former amateur boxer Chuck Zito, of Oz fame, was working as a bouncer at Scores when he took out Jean-Claude Van Damme.
    • Sonny Liston often got into fights with the police.
    • Andrew Golota got in a barfight in Poland, and after he beat the guy up, he took off the guy's pants and acted like he was going to play "hide the hot sauce bottle."
    • Bas Rutten once bumped into the much larger Brian Urlacher, causing the linebacker to spill his drink. Urlacher started yelling at Rutten, but Rutten played it cool and offered to buy him another drink. Urlacher kept acting tough, talking about how he was going to kick the shit out of Rutten, but Rutten simply tried to calm things down and prevent the fight from happening. Finally, one of Urlacher's boys pulled him aside and explained to him who he was picking a fight with. Urlacher apologized feverently to Rutten, and went back to being the bitch he is.

a lot of bouncers are fat and obese. i once saw these vietnamese kids going at it at some club in DC and these big black and white bouncers simply could not gain control of the situation.

one of the bouncers ended up on the floor by a little dude until the police came and started arresting people.

most bouncers are hired because they look the part and an average drunk joe will be intimidated by sheer size and be a good drunk boy that they expect him to be.

but at places like night clubs, especially in places like NY, philly, and DC, where there are plenty of intimidating folks that could potentially cause harm, there should be some sort of superior authority telling them otherwise.

i certainly wouldnt want some big dudes coming into my club starting shit without any consequences.

Maybe one or two of them high up can actually fight.

Shit, even I have dropped bouncers on three occasions. I felt like a king until I've seen little teenagers do it too.

That's why the first rule when there's an altercation is to call for backup....then when there's about ten of them there, that's when they can finally handle it.

I'll also vouch for bouncers being fuck all. I would be more apprehensive about getting into a fight with a policeman or soldier than a bouncer.

As stated by someome else, they are big, look the part and mainly rely on people being afraid of them.

Let me tell you, when you stand up to them and show NO fear at all, they don't know what to do.

One of the more recent almost altercations with a bouncer, some friends and I were singing in a club, just a bit drunk and singing some songs, causing no harm. A bouncer decided to be a prick and rudely told us to shut up etc. I stood up and screamed in his face that we weren't going to be quiet, and he looked shocked and sauntered off.

Let's not be ridiculous, the average bouncer is a far more dangerous streetfighter than the average police man or soldier. Some are just big guy's who can't fight for shit, but most, at the very least, knows how to use their size effectively to control smaller folks. Back to the topic, I heard that Stephane Ouellet, known alcoholic and coke addict, used to be a bouncer beater in Jonquiere.
