Barkley was all over the place, he has some great wins and some horrible losses. But he still proved a hell of a lot more to me than Pavlik ever has. I think Pavlik gets drawn into a brawl and gets stopped late in a fun fight
I'll take Pavlik by late TKO. Barkley was a brave fighter, but he was made to order for Pavlik...no defense and didn't have the power to discourage Pavlik.
^^^I'm not sure about not having the power to discourage him. The Blade could bang. Maybe not nearly like a Hearns or even a Trinidad. But he hit hard to enough to keep Pavlik honest I think.
I'm gonna have to disagree. Barkley was a brawler, but his power was nothing special. He gets a lot of mileage from folks due to the Hearns stoppage, but I don't see enough evidence to consider him a "banger". I have nothing but respect for Barkely for having a good career despite his limitations, but I think his likability inflates his abilities to some.
