agREED... almost impossible to gauge Kessler's effectiveness at 175.

Kessler would have a hell of a time trying to keep Dariusz off of him AND his jab out of his own face. Michaelcweski would have knocked him out, IMO.

Let's see how Kessler develops. I am very high on Kessler. I actually think he is a better fighter than Calzaghe. Calzaghe won because of his ring guile, wisdom and heart. Right now, I'd pick DM. Let's see how Kessler does in the future.

DM as the bigger, more proven guy should be the favorite but it is difficult to pick against Kessler either since he has never had trouble with guys like Dariusz and I have never seen him even hurt

When's he ever fought a guy like Dariusz? He's fought a fighter as tough (Andrade_ but only once has he fought someone as good....and Mikkel lost.

And that is why Dariusz is the favorite just as I said. However you can't make a pick with any degree of certainity (even in MM scale) since we don't know much about Kessler. He could have an astonishing chin for example which would change this fight completely

    It's an even fight.
I'd lean Kessler because he is faster and more precise.
Michalczewski has the weight advantage and you never know if that will matter or not one weight class apart, but it can.

WOW has Dariusz become the new hero here all of a sudden, I'm surprised...

I would pick Kessler, a bit more polished in my eyes.

And by the way it's Michalczewski not Michael Czewski

That's like asking Joe Calzaghe vs Glen Johnson, who wins, in that other thread

Dariusz was shopworn against Gonzales. A brawler approaching his forties and with almost fifty fights is NOT in his prime, usually

You mean instead of that corrupt German, what's his name, Joe Cortez?

Yeah, unless he had pulled a Jones-Sosa there, Dariusz would have needed a rematch to overcome the mighty Montell

Come on. Roy was good enough so you don't have to start to defend him by bashing Dariusz. That is all beside the point. All I wanted to point out is that if you analyze this bout, you should take the Dariusz who beat Hill for example (before Jones did) and not the Dariusz who had looked bad in all of his latest fights and who was 35 with 48 fights. For a guy who fighs his style that is faaaar past prime.

Of course, I am not sure you even want to make a logical pick here, or is Dariusz still too painful a memory:mj:
