What a fucking joke. As much of a shit fight and joke the Katsidis fight would have been, this is WORSE. Casamayor, who isn't a puncher, knocked Katsidis fucking cold.

What a joke Khan and company are.

Before Slice and the rest of the Khoward fans defend the decision...let's not forget Casamayor is 39 years old and the last time he fought a decent fighter (in 2008) he was knocked out.

    Points to consider...

1). Casamayor is not ranked at 140 OR 135

2). Casamayor is a Golden Boy fighter

3). Victor Ortiz is the next highest available fighter in the WBA and he's also a Golden Boy fighter.

4). Ortiz and Khan fought the same night and both left unscathed so injuries aren't an issue.

    This is ridiculous.

They took the Casamayor fight because negotiations broke down with Paulie Ayala.

Johnny Tapia wanted to use Reyes gloves so they revoked their offer.

I heard Khan was going to face Tua if he could make 133 by the end of the month, wear 18Oz gloves and agree to five two-minute rounds. Instead of Olympic Testing, they would have Olympic Scoring.

It's a stay busy fight, big deal. Maidana's injured. I didn't notice Musze getting this upset about Alexander fighting King Khan's leftovers in Kotelnik

This is incidental to the post, but I felt Casamayor-Katsidis was a little on the premature side, & while not a terrible stoppage by any means, it could've been handled better. I actually think Katsidis would have won a return bout, but that wasn't to be.

As we can all see, Casamayor is in over his head. He's no fool, either --- he'll know that, which is what makes me suspect this is all just a planned payday from the Casamayor camp, against an opponent who can sell tickets. Casamayor was never great in this regard, & with the air firmly out of his tyres since his now-distant loss to Marquez, the soon-to-be 40-year-old will probably arrive for the fight as lackadaisical in preparation as he has ever been. It's a shame Khan & his team couldn't (or wouldn't, I'm not sure) come up with someone more substantial --- they pulled this stunt with Barrera, targeting a name attached to a smaller man at (or even beyond, in Barrera's case) the end of their rope. If it happens again after this, it's looking like Cooney Road for Khan.

Could this be a cash-out fight for Casamayor to finally call it quits on afterward?

casamayor is finished, but here's to hoping he can land a shot like he did against katsidis on khan's playdough beard. lets face it, he still hits harder than than last clown khan fought.

For once I agree with this chap, and Ramonza, yourself, Muzse, and the others may be making a mistake by writing Joel's fistic obituary a tad too soon.

No one has ever just walked through this guy and wiped him out, even the fight he got his ass kicked in and was awarded the gift of the century.

I think Joel will be in prime condition for this, his last shot at the big money, and he will be desperate and fight very hard.

Desperate men are dangerous, and Casamayor knows every trick in the book.

I'm not predicting a win here for the grizzled Cuban great, but Khan may not just go right through him is all I am saying.

Well the worst thing an ageing fighter has to face is speed. Older fighters can deal with guys who stand and fight a la Mosely Margarito but when they're faced with blazing handspeed like Khan has it equals a bad night at the office for the old guy. This is Cassa's last good money fight so God bless him but he's going to quit on his stool or get stopped in the 9th round.

I don't think it will be "easy" either, but that's a relative term.

I picked Marquez by very close decision against Casamayor. Even though i picked the right horse, i was extremely surprised Marquez was able to knock him out. That fight was almost two years ago.

Even if Joel is motivated for one last shot, he certainly couldn't have improved in any way since then.

Even though Casamayor does indeed know all the tricks, i don't think he has a chance of schooling Khan at taking him into "deep waters". He's just giving too much away in terms of youth and speed.

He has a chance, but he's got to hurt Amir and finish him. He'll need to use his experience to find a way to land a left hand right on the button.

what a bullshit fight. It's just a matter of how fast Khan wants to finish him or carry him. I can't believe they would actually consider Casamayor for Khan.

in the division where is the deepest in boxing they couldnt' fucking find anybody else? Whatever man!

The Malignaggi fight was the gimme fight - An old, slower fighter who couldn't punch.

The last time I saw Casamayor was getting kod by JMM! That was like two years ago.

    This is pathetic.

And no, I wouldn't be happy with this fight, but as I said, it's a stay busy fight whilst Maidana is injured. Also, as I mentioned previously, I didn't see Musze getting this angry about Alexander fighting Khans leftovers in Kotelnik. Don't tell me there's no agenda pal.

Tim Bradley's a bitch for ducking the Alexander fight...HOWEVER...

Bradley on NUMEROUS occasions says he has no issue fighting Khan in England. He said that before Maidana pulled out and after Maidana pulled out.

And again...Golden Boy (Khoward's promoter) has Maidana as well. Khoward-Bradley could have easily been made. When asked, Bradley said the Alexander fight was the toughest fight followed by Maidana and Khan was the easiest fight.

I don't know if Casamayor will be in top condition...I think this fight plays out similar to DLH-Camacho. Camacho had a career boost after beating a 40 year old Sugar Ray Leonard....when put in with a young Oscar he got his ass whupped.

I do agree that Casamayor hits harder than Paulie...which is sad considering Joel's never fought at 140 and his best days at 135 were what...4-5 years ago when he fought Corrales?
