Hard to assess how Galaxy does at bantam, but I mean, it was just 3 pounds. In theory it wouldn't be a huge deal for him, but ya never know. I think Galaxy was a better fighter than Canizales. Less flashy, but I don't think any less talented. I think Galaxy had a higher ring IQ, actually. If he could carry 118 okay, then I think he UDs Canizales.
I think Canizales was better, but I can see lots of similarities in the way you'd view them. Both seemingly phenomenal, with incredibly impressive physical aspects, but neither massively tested despite long title reigns and strong contemporaries. I personally find Canizales more impressive in almost all factors, bar a few. Physicality and power obviously goes to Khaosai, as it does in most comparisons. The guy was like a little George Foreman. And the other thing which I think Galaxy proved more, were his intangibles. I don't know why, but I suppose that's why they're called intangibles. Galaxy was a much more consistent ring general, but I don't think he had a higher ring IQ. Canizales was a genius when he was firing on all cylinders. Another potential factor, is that I can only think of a three instances of Canizales vs a southpaw. One of which is arguably his worst performance, where he should've really lost. Another is a complete undressing of the same Billy Harding, and the third is a 1-0 bum who retired after taking an ass-whupping, and fought nothing like Khaosai. I think the physical intensity which troubled Canizales in the first Harding fight is something that Galaxy massively plays upon and clearly gets to Canizales whether he wins or not.
