I don't think he'll be able to avoid it for much longer.

he'd have to leave haymon, because otherwise it wont be happening on HBO. and HBO wont be keen on letting kovalev fight on showtime.

the thing is, kovalev got paid well tonight, but against hopkins i heard he only took him less than 200k. meanwhile stevenson got 10 times that amount to fight guys like fonfara and suckocksky

before tonight, I would have picked Stevenosn.

But kovy really impressed me, he has better defense than I tought, and he liquifies anything that he touches.

Shouldn't ward move up and face kovalev? Where is the calls for that? The same people complaining ggg needs to move up?

    Ward needs to FIGHT. Period.

But out of the two, Ward would MUCH RATHER fight GGG than Kov.

I think Kov would grind Ward down and take him out.

Ward should still be considered a favorite over GGG.

Not only is GGG smaller than Kov, but GGG doesn't have the absurd, Foreman-like power that Kov has.

Haymon aside, Stevenson should be more afraid than ever to face Kovalev because Sergey showed last night he has a reliable chin.

Yes, but we don't talk about that around here.

Can I interest you in any of my latest publications, such as "Too Black Too Southpaw Too Good", the Tiger Flowers/ MArvin Hagler book I wrote in conjunction with Michael Spinks????

We don't really talk much about Ward in general here. He's been irrelevant in the sport since 2012.

Kov should definitely be favored over Ward at this point. On top of being far more active, he has the style to break Ward.

If he can avoid the butts and the clinches he can win. If he gets dragged into a clinch fest, he could get bashed up around the eyes by Billy Goats fat dome.

Stevenson power is in another stratosphere than Pascal power.

I'm sure this fight will happen. After last night, the pressure in QC will be huge for Stevenson to fight Kovalev. He'll be shame publicly if he doesn't do so. I expect it to happen this year

Mildly interesting interview by Stevenosn after the fight.
Claims he picked Kovy to win, cause Pascal doesn,t have the firepower to keep him off. Agree with the stoppage cause he say Pascal legs were gone. Say that Kovy is very vulnerable to bodypunches.

Assure that the fight will happens soon.

REED Still Favors Kovalev, but Not Nearly as Confidently as Before...

It's Not that Kovalev Did Anything to LESSEN REED's Opinion of Him, but @ the Same Time, Pascal COULDN'T Miss him w/Looping Shots...The Kind of Shots Adonis Stevenson THRIVES On...

Kovalev Still BEATS Stevenson in REED's Opinion & he Showed a Pretty Decent Chin Last Night, but there WILL Be Some Dicey Moments If/When Kovalev Gets Nailed Flush by Stevenson's Wild, Winging Blows...HBO Went Out of their Way Characterizing Kovalev-Pascal as Some Lightheavyweight Throwback, 1980's Styled, Saad-Muhammad Slugfest, When it WASN'T...

    Kovalev-Stevenson Really COULD Be...

REED's CONSISTENTLY Said Ward Needs to MOVE UP to Face Kovalev, as Opposed to Waiting for the SMALLER GGG To Move Up to '68...

More Importantly, as X Alluded to, Dude just Needs to FIGHT...He Had Momentum After a Dominant, Fan Friendly Win Over Dawson, then Ward Completely SQUANDERED It...It's to the Point if he Never Fought Again, Few Would Give a Shit...

AND, If/When Ward-GGG Happens, Ward's LOST Any Negotiating Leverage he Previously Had...GGG's Fought Frequently and BUILT his Brand, the Polar Opposite of What Ward's Been Doing the Last Couple Years....

Kovalev's win is not a lock since an aggressive guy is always in danger against a banger like Stevenson. However, Kovaev showed that he can take a pretty good punch, plus I think he would be more careful against Adonis than he was with Pascal. I pick Kovale pretty confidently

I think some, just SOME of his recklessness may have been caused by Pascal hitting him low and Kovalev thinking he didn't need to worry too much about Pascals power.

The thing is, we QUESTION whether Kov can handle Stevenson's power.

We already KNOW shit chin Stevenson can't handle Kov's.

Stevenson's only chance is to bomb out Kov EARLY.

Once Kov gets close, and starts putting hands on Stevenson, that ugly motherfucker is gonna be bouncing up and down the canvas.

Kovalev thumps the shit out of him within 4 rounds.

Kovvles' defense only looked bad where he sort of lost focus, got a bit bored, and just expected to lay Pascal out at any moment. Until then he didn't look too hittable. I trust he'd be more careful against Stevenson, or not any need to, because he'd KO Stevenson early.

Kovalev is simply a much better fighter than Stevenson, he'll walk him down and crush him, in an easier fight than both Pascal and Hopkins.
