Tony the Tiger ate the Lion for lunch. Tony Thompson destroyed him. Mark Nelson stopped it in the 5th.   Very good result. This almost guarantees Chagaev won´t vacate the WBO belt for a Universum stablemate, if he defeats Ibragimov. And if he does I´ll get to see Thompson beat the crap out of Dimitrenko. What a great start to this night of boxing. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Good win for Thompson. Thompson stops Krasniqi in 5th! Heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson (30-1, 18 KOs) scored a fifth round stoppage over Luan "The Lion" Krasniqi (30-3-1, 14 KOs) in a WBO title eliminator on Saturday night at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg. Krasniqi had good results with his right hand against the awkward southpaw Thompson in round one. Thompson stepped up the pressure and dominated the first half of round two, although Krasniqi rallied late. Both fighters landed good leather in round three in what was unfolding as an action-packed bout. Thompson punished a suddenly passive Krasniqi in rounds four and five with an almost non-stop barrage of jabs and the bout was stopped by referee Mark Nelson with 21 seconds left in the round although Krasniqi was not particularly hurt. Thompson is now the mandatory WBO heavyweight challenger. Saturday, July 14 2007
Haha. Biased Fightnews giving Luan too much credit. Suddenly passive, good results in round one, rallied late, not particularly hurt. No shit. Thompson beat his ass, five rounds to zip, hurt him to the head, hurt him to the body, both eyes already swollen. Three more rounds and Luan would have seen as much as Stevie Wonder. :: ::
Yeah, he tackled Dimitrenko in the first round, and then proceeded to fight like a skillless mixture of Guinn and Raheem. Now they are hyping Dimitrenko. Can´t wait till he gets the Luan treatment. Universum has established themselves as the worst promoter in boxing. Besides Sidorenko and Chagaev nobody is allowed to touch a live opponent for years. Dimitrenko now thinks he´s Ivan Drago and has improved his punching power kinda like Sturm.
Tann was being hyped 2 years ago himself.:nono: :nono: Luan was always a bust. Dimi is waaaaay ahead of Luan.
Amazing. He won a six round decision against a 400 pound 46 year old Brazilian, who made his pro debut in 1988. I´m not kidding. Universum was so embarrassed they put it on Fightnews as a KO-win.
This is from Fightnews: Unbeaten heavyweight KO artist Denis Boytsov (18-0, 17 KOs) stopped Juan Antonio Diaz Juanito (22-8-1, 16 KOs) at 1:03 of round three. He didn´t stop him though. It was a decision. ::
Nope. How good can you look, when you cannot stop a 46 year old 400 pounds Brazilian, that got knocked out by Herbie Hide and Danny Williams 10-15 years ago.
Yeah sure, and remember Boytsov also knocked him out according to Fightnews, maybe if he stepped on the scales with one foot and left the other on the ground he weighed 226. :: ::
:: :: :bears: :bears: Krasniqui - "Wladimir needs to learn to stay on his feet before he even dares getting into the ring with me"...for some inexplicable reason Universum hyped Krasniqui up like no other, "235lbs of smart skills" - classic straight german translated into english :: .. :crafty: what happenned when Tony started to bring the heat?..did Krasniqui try to jump out of the ring again?...:: hilarious, I've never seen anything like that before, Krasniqui certainly doesn't help quell the stereotype on German-based fighters, infact he's the icon thanks to Universum.
Good to hear Thompson impressed, at HW he's one of the most promising americans however he aint getting any younger, hopefully he'll be in the mix soon for one of the trinkets
I don't understand why his cornermen never said anything about going to the body. There were no bodyshots. Thompson was open to the body all night. That was fucking disgraceful. Mix it up a little dude, go to the body.
