Seriously, why do these promoters keep making inept decisions to throw in their young prospects against established champs? from what i read, this kid got his ass kicked and shattered his jaw in the process. ironically, his promoter Ohashi challenged Chung Koo Chang only in his 7th pro fight and got KOed in a brutal fashion.

Takayama beat the WBA champion Niida imho and Mayol is a top 5 contender as well.

they hardly ever do unifcation bouts in asia. kyowa beats niida convincingly enough to get the official W.

personally, i'd rather see him fight the winner of calderon/cazarez, but japanese promoters don't deal w/ the WBO or IBF.

    You mean Takayama beat Niida?

The japanese are hardcore, when it comes to the IBF and WBO.

no, i'm saying if kyowa fought niida, i don't think it would be close enough for niida to get another gift.

I agree with you, but that doesn't mean we should just shrug our shoulders and say oh well. I'll keep calling them out every chance I get.:cheer:

yeah but wasn't there recently a guy with like 5 fights who lifted the title from Castillo? that's probably what he was thinking.

also, undefeatedness isn't always the goal.

It was a very close fight. I had Castillo ahead by a single point.

If he wasn't losing, he was as close as you can be to it. He hardly looked like he was having a comfortable time with it.

Ans so what anyway? Castillo cuts in every fight. Thats his flaw. Like having a dud chin, being slow...whatever. Castillo has zero skin resistance. Nobu beat him fair and square.

okay, is Nashiro still the champ? no. he didnt have time to develop and they rushed him again. someone like sahaprom is an exception since he was already an established muy thai champion who was also in his mid 20s or so. that and he turned out to be an exceptional fighter.

there are far more failures in rushing a fighter. prime example, that olympic gold medalist who fought chiquita only in his 6th fight or so. to his credit, he was beating chiquita's ass, but he never had a 12 round fight prior to that and eventually gased out and lost. but then again, he was already 26 or 27 by that point.

David Reid. He got to be champ despite a nearly debilitating eye condition thanks to his manager rushing him.

he got knocked the fuck out by McCall, then KOed again by Tua, Goofi and Kirk Johnson. the heavyweight division sucks so bad, him holding a belt doesnt mean anything to me.
