I also think Kessler destroys Lacy. Just because Kessler lost tonight doesn't turn him into a bum fighter. He is still the same fighter a lot of people were calling the no.1. It's just that Joe was too good for him. Kessler will be the no.1 when Calzaghe leaves the division.

 

This would be a war. Calzaghe beat Lacy with speed. A guy who stands flat footed would be given all he can handle by Lacy.

Why am i kidding you. Kessler doesn't have any speed but is an accurate puncher. Calzaghe gave Lacy angles and used superior handspeed to beat him. Kessler doesn't fight anything like Joe does.

Kessler would be right in front of Lacy all night and Lacy has power and speed advanatages over Kessler.

 

Kessler was not standing in front of Calzaghe.

The reason they were usually within range of each other is because BOTH have very good footspeed/work. And even then Kessler was able to get out of harm's way and re-set often. Calzaghe can deal with that given his footspeed and skill - Lacy cannot.

And Kessler IS quite quick. You have to look at all of his fights, not just tonight.

Mikkel was in there against the fastest fighter at 168 right now, and still managed to hit Calzaghe clean and relatively often - and he was throwing with FULL FORCE, not flurries and half-turned shots.

Additionally, Kessler has an outstanding jab....which Lacy has all SORTS of trouble dealing with.

Take a look at Kessler-Andrade to see how Kessler-Lacy would turn out. Would be perhaps a bit more competitive, but no doubt a clear win for Mikkel.

Im telling you right now that it would be a war. Lacy would be able to find Kesslers grill. If Lacy can find your grill then he will be very effective. I don't see Kesslers handspeed advantage over Lacy like you do. Like i said he is an accurate puncher. Lacy is a faster more powerful hitter. This would be very competitive and it would be a war.

 

We're talking about the same Lacy who just barely won an MD over a poor-man's Kessler in Tsypko, right?

The same one who was tit-for-tat with Rubin and Vanderpool until being able to stop them? And who struggled to beat Sheika?

The one whom Kessler would have like 3" of height on and a reach advantage on and who would spear Lacy with his jab alone?

I can see Lacy having some little moments, but a war? Nah.

 

Those right hands were thrown with speed and intent. I just don't think Lacy could take those shots.

 

Its him. So are you done already talking about Lacys advantages over Kessler. Lets face it Lacys comp is better then Kesslers so of course hes had tougher fights. They both lost to the same guy just Kessler done better against him.

As for the Tsypko fight, Lacy was doing good until he injured his shoulder. He hasn't even had one fight since then, that tells you how bad he injured it.

 

What makes you say that. Lacy took a 12 round beating from Calzaghe and didn't go down. He hasn't been down or even hurt in any other fight.

 

You need to stop on this thread. Kessler is better than lacy,has fought better fighters than Lacy, and did better against Calzaghe. Kessler beats Lacy and does so easily.

 

You guys are making Kessler out to be a prime Roy Jones or some shit. Hes not on Calzaghes level and he doesn't have a style to dominate Lacy. I really hope this fight gets made just so i can be right here telling you i told you so.

Miss the Tsypko fight? Regardless, Lacy losses all kinds of rounds to lesser fighters. Kessler would give him another schooling. He's already beaten someone better than Lacy. Oh I forgot Lacy struggled with Omar Sheika, what a killer. :laughing:

 

Calzaghe doesn't carry the same power in his punches that Kessler does.

Mundine is without a doubt better than lacy. Although good question. Andrade-Lacy would be a very good fight. Beyer might beat Lacy to.

 

Mundine-Lacy wouldn't look much different than Mundine-Green.

 

Andrade-Lacy would be a great fight.

 

Kessler would beat Lacy's ass! Lacy wouldnt even beat Mundine, let alone Kessler.
