Sorry to take so long to announce the final table, mixture of two things, slow internet connection and no answer as to what happened in the Sonny Boy Jaro fight. It's still down as a scheduled fight on boxrec so although this is pretty much the final table......it might not be....but fuck it.

This last round proved that consistency is they key, the predictor of the final round was TKO, who scored a big 36 points, and was only a round off getting 40. TKO is actually, in terms of topping rounds, our most successful poster with 3 rounds as top predictor or joint top predictor, but he will admit that missing a couple of rounds cost him dearly in the long run.

I won't give away the winners or anything just yet, you will have to scroll down for that, but I would just like to say a big thank you to all who took part, even those who only posted in one round, you've all been great competitors, and deserve alot of credit for putting up with my shitty punctuality in the last couple rounds, a big thank you (and apology) for that!

The results and final table are below, but before those are a quick summary of previous rounds and the top scorer(s) in those rounds, enjoy!

Round 1 - Khan Vs Barrera

    Top predictor: *Z* (20pts)

Round 2 - Klitschko Vs Gomez

Round 5 - Williams Vs Wright

    Top predictor: barneyboy2001 (35pts)

Round 6 - Froch Vs Taylor

    Top predictors: ILLUMINATI/TKO (24pts)

Round 7 - Pacquiao Vs Hatton

Top predictor: mexican wedding shirt (24pts)

Big congratulations to Salaco, the 2009 FightBeat Prediction League Champion! :cheer:

By the end of it Salaco ended up a comfortable winner, for the first half of the league it looked like *Z* was going to walk away with it, but one bad round was the turning point and Salaco pounced on it, never to look back, despite *Z* clipping at his heels and a late surge from Pagan.

Again, sorry to everyone for my poor punctuality late on, but we got there in the end, and a massive thank you to everyone who took part. If the Sonny Boy Jaro result comes through please let me know and I can update it, and of course if I have added your scores up incorrectly please let me know and I will amend ASAP.

Thanks again to all, and congrats to our Champ, Salaco!!

    SnD

Thanks for running the contest. (even if your insistence on choosing no-names from nowhere ultimately doomed mE, haha)

Slice what was up with the Jaro fight? Even boxrec doesn't have the result

And El Terrible - what a pathetic performance. Shame on you. I thought you were a great predictor of fights?

Second place and not even a mention?

    *Z* this and *Z* that.

I had the champ on the ropes in the last round and you're praising a guy who won some jab exchanges based upon Compubox stats in a couple of rounds.

contests like these become crapshoots/boxrec unts though. I can't imagine anyone having a solid foundation on 90% of the fights that got picked in this thing.

Kudos to SnD to running this, it was smooth.

I do think for the future, that a real prediction contest would be reserved for big fights, by playing vegas-type odds and betting the result rather than bonuses for exact rund and things like that.

    Nice job SnD!

Next time round, maybe we can include Friday fights from the beginning, as often the US-based Friday fights are more competitive and high profile than the smaller Euro or UK-based cards which tended to end up being somehwhere on the list during each prediction week.

Yes definitely, it was getting real thin on the ground for picking fights only on saturdays, and the friday night fights if they were included would have made it harder to predict. Jaws has a point as well in that maybe we should only do it for big fights as we are bound to get quiet weeks. All points taken onboard.

I think the fight was cancelled or postponed, I have seen a list of results from the same fight card and no result was listed for the Jaro match

Hey how about a prize for the winner. To take the pressure of SnD, how about the loser must send the winner "something" :hammert:

I just hope if I win, LOK doesn't come in last place
