Scores in the Nietes/Vargas fight vary from 116-112 Vargas to 118-110 Nietes, but at least it was a tough fight to score, unlike the knockdown Montiel suffered against Valdez. The cleanest knockdown possible on a picture perfect uppercut, which the ref ruled a slip, before having the doctor check out a cut that magically appeared on Montiel´s eye after the slip.:doh:

And holyshit the fight is over Valdez wins by TKO cut stoppage.

No sorry, now it is a technical draw, since the fight was stopped before four rounds have been completed and OBVIOUSLY how could I forget Montiel was cut when he slipped over the ring apron with his head. Nothing good comes out of something that has Fury in its title.:doh:

Haha nice replays by TopRank showing Montiel´s knockdown of Valdez about a dozen times, while ignroing the Montiel "slip". Quality production I have to say.

Chavez wins by first round TKO. For once a decent showing by Jr.

ever get the feeling that you are talking to yourself? :dunno:

....just kidding, thanks for the updates. Regardless of the controversy, Montiel-Valdez sounds like it was a good fight....was Valdez well on top?
