Those numbers should be a little more even when Carwin ko's him in 1 round and they rematch in november

Yeah, something like that. He's getting paid. He's the biggest draw in the sport right now and with that stipulation, he'll probably walk out with 3 million. Carwin should get paid more but this is capitalism at it's finest, Carwin is still relatively boring and not really that well known among the casual fans. He'll get up there eventually.

WTF? His fights average about a minute. How or when has he ever been boring?

    Boring was Lesnar-Herring.

You can't go by what the salaries say. I remember when Couture was listed as making something like $150K per fight, but when he was going through the legal battle with the UFC it turned out he was making well over $1 Million per fight plus had a signing bonus worth a couple hundred thousand, and a few other things thrown in too, like bonus pay to do commentary and such.

well, brock lesnar was a star long before. shane carwin is a former div-2 champ who works as an engineer and quickly bursted onto the scene not too long ago. makes sense that he's getting paid in peanuts. i'm sure that will change if he wins tomorrow night.

great points Joony, but TFK is right, you can't go by the salaries alone.

Carwin can now go cash his 40,000 give half to taxes, and trainers, and still have enough left over to buy a happy meal.
