This is what I have been reading. He was offered a third fight with Mir but turned it down and asked for Roy Nelson.

How does this fight go if it's made? Does Roy have what it takes to beat Lesnar?

I think it's an interesting fight, Big Country hits hard, he's got decent stand up, a solid chin and very good BJJ.

    Discuss.

Big fatso has good stand up and good power. He will knock Lesnar out if Lesnar is stupid enough to stand and trade. At this point I think it's an even match up. I would pick fatty by ko in round 2. I think Lesnar getting his ass kicked two fights in a row will take a huge toll on his confidence.

Lesnar wants a "soft touch". I think Big Country retires him.

credit to Lesnar, it seems obvious that he has Mir number ( yes, i know, they are 1 and 1) and a fight with him would mean nothing. Nelson also seem to be taylor made for Lesnar thought.

I like the idea that Lesnar is asking for the best possible opponent.

Unlike Lesnar, Nelson is a guy that has no problem getting hit. He knows how to stay in the pocket and trade.

That being said, JDS took Nelson down with the only shot he took, so I find it hard to believe that Lesnar can't do the same. As good as Nelson's BJJ is, he has never done anything from his back in MMA.

I think Lesnar will be too much for Nelson and wins via GNP in the second if this one happens.

Soft touch isn't Roy Nelson. Mir would be a soft touch for Lesnar. There was absolutely nothing in the second fight that would lead me to believe a third would be any different.

He is suspended for 6 months. However, if an ophthalmologist clears him, then he could be back after 60 days.

There is a mandatory 30 days with no contact.

Although possible, I doubt we will see him on January 1 against Nelson.

The fight wouldn't be for a while obviously, Nelson is still recovering from a knee injury and isn't going to be ready for a while anyway.

I don't think this fight is all that tough for Brock to be honest.

no way he fights on that card. No way at all. 0% chance. The guy got his ass beat within an inch of his life. His face was all sliced up as if Freddy Kruger just got done with him. Lesnar gotta go back to his farm and rethink life. He's gonna be be back in April. Plus I do believe Dana pulled Nelson off that card anyway so it's not like they are looking for a Carwin replacement anyway.

Normally, I wouldn't either but Brock has been regressing IMO.

Lesnar would get the takedown all day. His only hope from that point would be the 'furious rabbit punch technique' that he has employed in the past with varied success. Big Country is game and can take a fair amount of punishment. Ironically, I think Brock would gas and Big Country would just simply outlast him.

Brock's GNP was much improved in the second Mir fight. The shots he was hitting Mir with were no joke. A far cry from the stupid looking hammer fists he was hitting herring with. Big Country faded bad when taking a beating from JDS, not sure he could even oulast Brock, considering he will have 265 pounds on top of him for the majority of the fight.

And therein lies the big point. This won't be a 3 round boxing match like Nelson had against JDS where he could control the pace and not over work himself.

Stamina is lost far more quickly when a 270 pound dude with an amazing wrestling base is on top of you pounding away. Make no mistake about it, Nelson does NOT have the stamina for that kind of battle.
