The funny thing is it's called "Muhammad Ali BOXING reform act" While it probably should apply to all fight sports, when it was made it didn't refer to any sport other than boxing. Zuffa isn't going to get in any trouble over this. If anything, it will just be changed to include other fight sports.
Agreed. UFC fighters don't really have a legal angle to fight their contracts because the Muhammad Ali act does not apply to MMA. However it's obviously a conflict of interest for your promoter to be your manager.
And the sanctioning body and the announce crew. The business model is very much borrowed from pro wrestling.
MMA fighters have no rights. Their job is to get in the cage, Bleed, and go home with whatever scraps they get while hoping they'll find another fight. They need to kill eachother for our entertainment. They're puppets, that's all they are.
