For some reason calling Jose Aldo, who typically hits the cage at 150-155 pounds, a midget doesn't seem right. Personally I love the cardio of the smaller divisions. And if it means the UFC can mix Aldo, Faber, Cruz, etc on UFC cards, then I'm all for it.
The smaller weight classes most often put on the best fights. Amped out little dudes with big swings and lightning quick footwork, hands and transitions. Love it.
Well, ahem, in MMA not so much, but I see your point :kidcool: They are still considerably faster and crisper than the heavier guys.
I don't really care for the midgets in boxing, but in MMA with 4oz gloves where they can actually hurt eachother I'm all for it.
I think midget fights should strictly have midget or female referees. You don't want Big John reffing because it puts into perspective how small the midgets are. You don't wanna see Big John go down on his knees in order to look a midget fighter in his eyes to tell him not to faul again or goodness forbid dive in to stop a fight and crush a midget.
