According to ESPN. Disappointment to say the least.

Spence will take him out in 9.

This fight will be at 154 apparently. So I’m assuming the belts won’t even be on the line…

I think Thurman will quit once the punishment gets bad. Claim some type of injury and retire on his stool.

Thurman stopped being relevant ever since losing to Pac. Still pissed that we aren’t getting Crawford vs Spence any time soon.

154 lbs means spence won't ever fight at welter again. Crawford will have to face him at the higher, more difficult weight for him now

Mannnn I give up on Spence-Bud. It's not happening. This is probably the last appealing year for it anyway. Neither guy is in their physical prime anymore.

What's interesting now is to see if Spence will fight his good friend Jermell, assuming Jermell beats Kostya's boy.

If not, maybe PBC makes Spence-Fundora?

Spence would beat the fuck out of fundora. He won't fight charlo

I believe spence vs Crawford will happen eventually at 154

I think it's past it's expiration date. Boxing fans are tired of it.

I think it would have done EXCELLENT numbers in November. Not sure if it would have hit a mil, but it would have done well.

I don't think it'll sell as well in the future.

The fight just isn't ready yet. Any chef will tell you a good piece of meat needs to be marinated for at least 15 years.

November was THE last straw for me. I'm not excited for it anymore, even if it happens.

I know tons of semi-casuals who were already talking about us all having a big fight party around it, when the fight looked virtually done. I don't think the mainstream buzz will ever be like that again for Spence-Bud. These guys killed the buzz.

As for Spence-Thurman, I don't see the sense in making it for the same month as Davis-Garcia. Generally, casuals are only shelling out cash for one big PPV per month. Tank-Ryan, IFFF it does happen, will outsell Spence-Thurman by a wide margin. As it should, it's a better fight.

If Davis-Garcia falls apart (which is highly possible) then Spence-Thurman might sell more PPVs.

I have no idea what the casuals think of that fight. Hard for me to imagine it's considered anything like a superfight that would get some mainstream appeal like De La Hoya vs Trinidad.

if neither loses then the fight wont get any smaller. the longer it takes to get made means more ppl learn how to steal it, so it will do smaller ppv numbers but not have less viewers.

    Nah, not like that.

Oscar and Tito were megastars. And boxing was a lot more popular in 1999 than it is today. Moreover, Oscar and Tito were in their mid-20s.

I don't know how it is in every circle, but a shitload of my friends were excited for Bud-Spence.

    He also isn't very good.

    Spence would outclass Fundora.

    I would respectfully disagree.

I think every fight has an appeal expiration date.

Floyd-Pac didn't expire, but that's unique. These guys aren't stars like Floyd and Pac.

I realize that and brought it up only because it featured two undefeated welterweights.

Not sure what these two think they're bringing to the table other than undefeatedness.

They rarely ever expire completely but i think that fight would have been bigger had it happened years earlier.

Meaning Floyd-Pac? Yes, its apex of popularity would have come in early 2010 when Pac was fresh off of whupping Cotto.

Maybe, maybe not, but it's different to this.

Megastars like Floyd and Pac can fuck around.

Guys like Spence and Crawford don't have the star appeal to fuck around with fans. Eventually, people lose interest and focus on the newest, and shiniest thing.

SPEAKING of expired fights, the fight at hand should have happened in 2017 FFS. That's not Spence's fault. Keith didn't want the smoke.

Now, he's just desperate for a payday.

Keith wasn't good enough to stay unbeaten if he was active.

I don't care much about it, I was just saying. Keith's style was never built for longevity. He's a leap ammy.
