With all the parties involved and their respective histories, this fight is not on until they're in the ring if you ask me. Great fight if it happens! I'll say Maccarinelli by 8th round stoppage.
Should be awesome. Maccarinelli v Haye set for March David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli face each other on 8 March David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli will meet in an all-British world cruiserweight title fight on 8 March. WBO champion Maccarinelli retained his title last month, beating Mohamed Azzaoui in the fourth round at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Londoner Haye had to get up from the canvas to sensationally stop Jean Marc Mormeck in the seventh round and claim the WBC and WBA titles in November. Promoter Frank Warren said a venue will be announced at a later date. 606: DEBATE I think Haye has the class but Enzo has the punch to upset the apple cart hazharrison "If there is one fight I would buy a ticket to watch it would be Maccarinelli-Haye," said Warren. "I'm in the business of delivering big fights and this is certainly a real fight for the boxing fans and media and one that they have been clamouring for. "It has all the ingredients for a potentially thrilling fight: two big names, both huge punchers, both have been put down but got up to win and plenty of pride at stake." And the two fighters are aiming to top the epic fights between Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank. I guarantee that I will knock out Maccarinelli David Haye "I'm delighted that Haye has finally put pen to paper and the fight is happening," said Swansea-born Maccarinelli. "There is nothing like a big fight between the top two British fighters in the division to get the public excited. "I believe that this will rival, if not better the Nigel Benn-Chris Eubank epics. We are both big punchers but I believe that I am the hardest hitter out of the two of us. Once I drop Haye he won't be getting up." Haye said: "This will be the modern day Benn-Eubank. I'm glad that politics have been put to one side and that Frank Warren and my manager Adam Booth have made the fight happen. "I feel that it is my duty as world champion to fight the very best and I guarantee that I will knock out Maccarinelli to convince the few doubters that I am the best cruiserweight that Britain has ever produced." Maccarinelli has stopped 21 of his 29 opponents with 16 coming inside the first three rounds, while Haye has halted 19 of his 21 opponents early with 14 inside the first three rounds. This fight is scheduled for the day of my 28th birthday - what a great little present! I'm gonna get wasted in a pub somewhere and read out all your shitty predictions to whoever is unfortunate enough to be sat by me! People will think i'm a comedian!
Whilst I agree with Arben, in that I'll reserve judgment on this fight being on when I actually see these two in the ring, this is a fantastic piece of news. There are not many other fights I'd like to see more than this one right now. Two chinny bangers going head to head- now we'll find out whether or not Maccarinelli is as good as Warren has lead people to believe he is. I'm taking Haye by brutal KTFO somewhere between rounds 6-8, btw. MTF opcorn: :cheer:
This is one of those fights which could be ended at any moment, by either fighter. Should be a great spectacle, and it's not foten you can say that about the higher weight classes.
That's the key, right there. 'Barn-burner' in the making. Can't wait for this one and I don't usually watch UK fighters.
yeah too bad you guys only have like 3-4 fighters left down until welter/superwelter who could fuck with all those eurobums... ::
Bet365 came out with crazy odds. They think it´s more likely Enzo will hit the chinny and poor-conditioned Haye often enough to win a decision, but not Ko him in the process. :: Haye by KO @ +200 Enzo by KO @ +275 Under 7.5 @ +110 I mean that´s nuts, isn´t it? Two fuckin punchers with bad chins, how the hell is this supposed to go to a decision. :dunno:
If you bet on both by KO, you are guaranteed to make a profit, unless of course it goes to a decision, which I doubt.
