This guy is apparently the new HW hopeful, 15-0, 15 KOs, all early. Watched a few of his fights though and he looks like shit. He seems to just try to walk through all his opponents and land big shots. Could just be he's fighting down to the level of his opposition, but he's slow as hell, too. What are your guys thoughts on him? I think Vitali would probably fuck him up assuming he doesn't retire now, Wlad ekes out a win by pulling his usual John Ruiz jab/grab act. Given that the HW division is so shitty, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a shot against one of the Klitschkos soon. http://www.maxboxing.com/news/other-boxing-news/magomed-abdusalamov-mago-is-here-to-stay (from before the fight he just had)
Checking him out now....let post a video for the lazy fucks... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_UKhQVY-0H0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

-No Jab, and when he throw it lounges his whole body forward and drops both hands. -Terrible accuracy -Defense consist of putting his gloves/forearm in his face a la WINKY without protecting his body. -The Heavyweight Darchiniyan, doesn't load up as much. +Someone like a Chris Byrd of 5-6 years ago would have box circles around him. +He will make for great Ko'reels... +This guy vs. Seth Mitchell and Arreola(??) would be a brutal KO fight. +Chris Byrd of 5-6 years ago would have undress this guy with ease.
Holy fucking mackerel He's utter shite He'll be in the top ten in no time, sadly... worse yet, he will deserve to be there... he makes Tua look like Ali
Thanks for the embeds, ILLUMINATI. A poor man's Darchinyan is exactly who he reminds me of. Arreola vs this guy would be an entertaining scrap for sure, but the fact that he's being spoken of as a possible legit contender speaks volumes about the condition of the division.
nah, boxing is in awesome shape never better anything else is just Bert Sugar talk Honestly, the best thing for the sport would be contraction... merge weight classes, get rid of the supers/juniors and you can separate some of the wheat from the chaff (of course there is no helping the heavyweight division in this regard, but perhaps the improved competition and weight class strength could reinvigorate the sport and maybe you get some big kids interested in taking it up... just a thought)
In this one the Rodriguez guy look like James 'The Grim Reaper' Roper....when he fought the HYPE....but Rodriguez seem to have a lot more boxing skills than Magomed... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/S4NfzboxT0A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Wow this guy sucks. The HW division is such utter crap, and every new prospect seem worst than the one before him. Go check the bulgarian clown that riong put in the top 5, he's so bad it's funny
Interesting. If I or a handful of others were to say this exact thing, you'd be vomiting out your usual "jingoist American, Bert Sugar, blahblahblah" bullshit
lay off the drug compadre. I've said numerous times that the HW division is an absolute shithole. The thing is , ther's a credible reason to explain the decline (big, tall athletic guy can make a lot more money in other sports), wich doesn't apply to the rest of the divisions. I simply don't believe that persons born after 1980 are geneticaly inferior at boxing, as you seem to believe. Saying that Angel Mannfredy or David Reid are way betters than Amir Khan is jingoist , Bert Sugar bullshit, tough
Khan and Manfredy are probably comparable. The issue is that right now Khan is considered a marquee fighter and a star. whereas if he'd fought around the time Manfredy was fighting, he would've just been considered another Angel Manfredy. David Reid was unquestionably better than Khan, if he hadn't had a fucked up eye and shit stamina (which I think were correlated in a way) he would've likely gone much further.
That's ridiculous. Khan star status is due to his parki origins, and his run at the olympic games. It has nothing to do with a so called decline in boxing. And he has way better wins than those two guys put together. And Reid had a bad eye and shit stamina, so he was not as good as Khan. His only good performance was against Laurent Boudouani, rest of the time, he struggles and sometmes even got floored against C level opposition such as Kevin Kelly and James Coker. I'd like to know in wich parralel this guy is better than Khan
One difference is Reid struggled,but a mere con was knocked unconscious by a Columbian janitor in less than 3 minutes.
WTF? This guy is 6' 3" weights 227 lbs and his body looks so damn flabby! I mean I also am 6' 3" and weight the same, but at age 52 look more athletic than this bozo so-called professional athlete!
Ekes out a win. :: I bet Tony's neurologist is telling him to avoid these recent ekings. Klitschkos should retire in any case and let these, uh, sated young lions get on with things.
This guy is probably more of a threat than Tony Thompson. Really, your schtick is getting old. Wald Pussy is complete shit as a fighter. As awful as this guy is, the fact that he has power and isn't an obese middle aged man makes him a good opponent for a crappy fighter like Wald Pussy.
:: It's true, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool American jingoist. Especially with regards to Pakistanis. U S A !!
Straw men unite. No one has touted this guy except his manager. He has decent am credentials and so far has not stumbled as a pro. At all. Bert Sugar types never appreciate this style of fighting despite the fact that it, and the completely dissimilar Cuban style, have dominated the amateur scene for a long, long time and at least two guys with this style (Solis (ironically enough) and Povetkin) are top 10 guys right now at heavyweight with Chagaev at least top 15.
The fighters who would have ever "beaten the shit" out of Tony Thompson are really quite few and far between. My schtick, as you put it, is based on seeing epic giants like George Foreman blow like a emphysema riddled goldfish in a dried up river bed against average, routine pugs like Gregorio Peralta or Jimmy Young or Alex Stewart. Wlad's last two fights were concluded in under 8 completed rounds. Both of his opponents were in no condition to continue, and he's fought TWICE since Haye, who is yet to fight again, and is only fighting at that this weekend thanks to the Ghetto-Fabulous-Fallout from a Vitali Klitscko fight. The SCHTICK is that of those who compare an active, powerful and talented fighter to the likes of Ruiz, and then, cherry on the naan bread, run around posting videos of a thumbreaker from Baku. EDIT: just by way of addressing the point: he may be more of a threat, but which of them is easier to knock out? Knocking out Thompson is hard work, hitting him cleanly is very hard work. Wlad figured him out and took him out. That deserves a lot of credit. Foreman would have flubbed it. Bowe is unlikely to have improved on it. Golota would have blown it completely and Lewis would have allowed it to degenerate completely.Thats the point. Thompson posed a far greater conundrum and was far braver than say the likes of Akinwande.
